Can anyone tell me if this picks up? I stopped after the second story, but someone told me to continue, seeing as I just started Chihiro's story. It's kind of interesting, but I've lost motivation again. Does this story/game have a grand climax, or is it all sliceoflifesliceoflife?

>> No.5078431

Yeah, I was the one who told you to continue.
It has an excellent climax.

Okay then, thanks again.

That's what she said. Giggity giggity giggity.

Btw, if you know her secret, you can guess what's following.

>> No.5078457

>>5078450
What, the fact that she forgets shit every 13 hours?

>> No.5078510

Will there be kung fu fights?

>> No.5078523

>>5078510
Yes. They'll also be SUPAH EFFECTIVE.

>> No.5078552

>>5078457
Yes, for her it's a truly heavy burden.
In the anime, considering it was completely inferior to the VN except in graphics, her route was my second favourite because of her climax.
If you think up till now is boring, wait for Miki's route, that's painful.

>> No.5078577

>>5078552
But after that comes Chapter 5, with all it's impact.

>If you think up till now is boring, wait for Miki's route, that's painful.
Okay brah. I'm looking for some drama and stuff, that's cool. The first 2 routes weren't very drama. First one was slice of life and the second one was just dumb 'lol i luv bro but i luv u 2, but i luv bro' shit.

>> No.5078600

Chapter 5 is what you're looking for then. inb4 spoilers.

Cool. I was just going to fuck off and read 赫炎のインガノック, but I'll finish this shit then. Thanks, /jp/.

>> No.5078618

ef isn't slice of life, it's romance/drama. But if you just want something real deal with fighting and shit you should look else where.

>> No.5078622

>>5078611
Do read Inganock, the atmosphere, setting and characters are awesome.

>> No.5078634

>>5078622
I'm going to. After this, though. I love non-slice of life VNs.
>>5078618
>ef isn't slice of life, it's romance/drama
Yeah, I suppose, but the drama has been certainly lacking so far.

>> No.5078647

>>5078634
If you want a drama adaptation of ef, watch the anime, they ommitted most of the slice of life, emphasized the drama, and it looks better than the game.

>> No.5078652

>>5078647
What's it called? ef - tale of memories or some shit? I downloaded that, then saw all these characters I didn't know and deleted that shit straight off the bat.

>> No.5078665

>>5078647
More like they omitted the character development and added soap opera level melodrama while ruining the original story.

>> No.5078657

Also, just stating now that you might dislike Chapter 5 if you dislike Yuuko.

>>5078657
>Also, just stating now that you might dislike Chapter 5 if you dislike Yuuko.
I like Yuuko. She's mysterious and shit. I don't know jack shit about her, I have no real reason to hate her.

>> No.5078677

>>5078652
Yeah, ef - a tale of memories/melodies.
Cut a lot of the VN but some scenes like Miyako's phone call at the end are excellent.
Again, if you are looking for drama, skip ALL the way through to Yuuko's route, let's say there's a reason for her 'summer' uniform.

>Again, if you are looking for drama, skip ALL the way through to Yuuko's route, let's say there's a reason for her 'summer' uniform.
But won't skipping shit also make me miss at lot of other dramu, or just miss out and not understand shit?

>> No.5078690

>>5078665
There wasn't much to ruin though.
Honestly Miyako's route in the game sucked but it was at least bearable in the anime.

No different from any Key VN then.

MikixYuusuke is horrible, like horrible bad, even if it's important.

Except Clannad is 90% slice of life/humor.

You can always go back and read it later. I would go skip to it now if I were you to avoid spoilers.

>slice of life/humour
Once the route kicks in, is melodrama.

>> No.5078729

I just read the story of Chihiro's rabbit. Why the fuck does upbeat music CONTINUE to play through every fucking scene that would otherwise make me feel kind of fucking bad. Like Miyako's bad ending, pulls the same shit, music till the shitty screen. Fucking minori.

>> No.5078746

>>5078729
maybe nnl is trolling with the music?
Also heavy contrasts.

>> No.5078757

>>5078746
Yeah heavy contrast, cool. But I can't feel anything if there is happy music playing while a dramatic scene is being described. It doesn't fucking work like that.

>> No.5078773

>>5078757
Unless NNL changed it from the Chapter 5 preview, that at the least should be different. My memory is a bit hazy though, and I've yet to get back to it in the full release.

>> No.5078779

>>5078757
It's to show that despite how you can try to make everything look rosy and happy, bad things happen regardless.

>lol deep meaning

>> No.5078822

>>5078690
Why do you only mention Miyako's chapter when the anime ruins every story from the VN? Especially Yuu and Yuuko's, which is the best/most important story yet was completely butchered in the anime.

>> No.5081462

>>5078822
Ef wasn't really that great to begin with. I thought Shaft did a pretty decent job with what they had, even if it came out pretty ridonkoulous at times.
