I did Ciel's arc first by accident because I didn't know anything about Tsukihime. I've never regretted it.

I finished Ciel Route the other day. It is different enough to warrant playing through imo. It is Arc route on steroids.

Do them in whatever order you feel like, but I'd recommend finishing at least Ciel's true ending first. Ciel's true end leads pretty naturally into the Far Side routes (kind of like how UBW leads naturally into Heaven's Feel in Fate/stay night). There's also one bad end in Akiha's route that only really works if you've played Ciel's route first.

Her ideas of help are sometimes not very useful, like trying to convince you, while you're in a very deranged state of mind, that you're not a killer, by threatening to kill you.

The best part of it all is if you do kill her. Shiki just laughs at how dumb she is, and then realizes he's finally snapped.

Also, why doesn't she just ask Shiki questions calmly instead of creeping him the fuck out with crazy vampire talk and acting like she's unstable.

No, she never tried to kill Shiki, if you chose to listen to her instead and trust her, everything ends well. Arcueid is the most honest person Shiki ever met. She got crazy only because Shiki cut a line on her neck, even though she never expected that. On the other hand Ciel already killed Shiki in two bad ends in her own route.

No, that didn't happen on the good end, so no, Arcueid didn't wanted to make him into a Dead Apostle. Arcueid was able to understand, and she resigned to the fact that Shiki loved Ciel in the end.

Whether or not Arc goes through with it is sorta irrelevant. She shows up at that place with the intent to kill you off and bring you back as her undead fucktoy.

Which is exactly what Satsuki did earlier on.

She wanted to kill Roa and recover her power, but she didn't want to kill Shiki. She doesn't ask for much, only a bit of attention, since she was someone who never had anything, she doesn't really care if Shiki likes another girl(at least in that route) as long as he also likes her. Shiki trusts Arcueid more than anyone else, that's why he pierced the dot on his own chest on the Ciel's good end, without hesitation, only because Arcueid told him to do so.

Becoming a Dead Apostle would've required Arc to drink Shiki's blood (Roa became one without ever drinking Arc's blood, and Arc never even sucked his blood directly from him, he tricked her into tasting it on a rose). Shiki drinking Arc's blood just makes him more susceptible to suggestions from her in exchange for a longer lifespan.

Ciel has a really kick ass route, but Ciel is pretty much the least interesting character.

What? Roa's soul deteriorated due to his reincarnations, since a soul cannot endure the outside air. The transformation into a Dead Apostle can't halt the deterioration, but it can make his soul more resistant to dispersion. His soul became more resistant after becoming a Dead Apostle, not the oher way around.
