Does /jp/ play Eternal Fighter Zero?

I guess some of you do, since it's a doujin game, the character roster is mostly composed of girls from VNs, and seeing the popularity of the other Tasofro games here (IaMP and Hisoutensoku).

I see no problem with an EFZ one. EFZ's 4.02 update came at the end of 2005 (november). That was after IaMP's last (1.11) update.

It was a fairly fun game but the netcode is terrible.
You're lucky to get a playable connection to someone 300 miles from you.
I've only ever played it with friends I have in state. Even moving to a neighboring state was enough to render it a desynchronized input dropping mess.

That sure was monstrous, guess I'm not gonna underestimate things that make Mizuumi whine more than usual anymore.

Anyway GG bro, but I actually set it at 0 -- not sure what the fuck made me think that was a good idea, maybe I'd just been pampered on playing so many fightans that don't use casters that I forgot about it.
Also, where's the option to do playernames? I couldn't find it anywhere on mine or in the guide, but it's not a big deal since most of /jp/ wouldn't be too thrilled to see that they're playing against Giant Tree.

Anyway, uh, we could totally try that again with delay set right in a minute.

I dunno, it doesn't seem all that unplayable to me -- I almost wish /jp/ had a frequent netplay scene for this, even one almost as big as VagPov's three players.

Sorry for being a colossal scrub either way; I tried to go entirely from memory and there was really only one character I could remember anything about (care to take a guess who that was?). Maybe if there actually are players around I might start relearning it, sure is hella more fun than SWR/soku and IaMP.

You're finished? Alright then, gee gees bro.
As I'm sure you can tell, there's only one thing that I could really remember well, and that was CATCH 2A ALL THE TIME. Shamefully you figured out my "mash 214 instead of block on wakeup" secret fairly quick, but I'll be honest that catching a 2A with it made me scream really loudly; there was a huge YEAAAAAAH that one time I barely managed to make a comeback by countering one of those. Made me feel great for a second, then I realized it was a fluke and I'm still a scrub.

Either way I had a lot of fun, /jp/ needs to get together and play old games like this every once in a while. Especially considering how much better it is than most of the trash that's coming out these days.
Well, if anyone who still plays to this is ever up again maybe we can do this more often -- I'd be happy to scrub the ground some more.

Anyway, thanks for the games friend, have a wonderful day.

I SWEAR IF I SEE THAT COUNTER ONE MORE TIME I WILL BLOW A JOINT so I just switched to Nayuki and went crazy with the crossups to fuck up your inputs, heh. How does magicgirl's charge moves work? I swear I lost rounds to it because I could never figure out what to do against it.

>> No.5046896

When I say magicgirl, I mean the one with the magical girl stick, not... the one that uses magic.

>> No.5046922

>>5046890
You mean Kano's?
She can only use specials when the magic gauge is full, and if you try to input one when it's not full she'll automatically charge it up which most of the time means misinputs are almost always going to completely fuck you.
When there's one stock of the RF gauge though you can 236S to insta-charge it which is also sort of a burst; I tried to use it to get out of pressure and more often than not it just plain didn't work.

But then again,
>I swear I lost rounds to it
makes me think you're talking about the OTHER magicgirl, and the only real "charge" move she has is probably that command grab where she dashes and slams you against the wall. The right way to use that is with fancy wallslam bnbs that involve using it before the opponent can airtech, which I hadn't quite got the timing down on.

Either way both your mains are total pro to me, maybe I'll dick around in practice and figure out how to actually use Mayu beyond playing her exactly like Kaede, or even figure out how to actually do Mio's spacing. Or, you know, learn a good character. ;_;

>>5046939

>>5046922
Forgot to mention but that command grab is blockable so just, uh, block it. I'm too smalltime to time wallbounce combos at this point so unless you play a tourneyfag all you need to remember is to just keep blocking that thing when it's random.
Unless you meant something else by "charge move," I guess.

>> No.5046969

>>5046922
Yeah, at some point I figured that you were supposed to combo from it (well at least the EX version), but I was always trying to jump out instead of just blocking it, and I just learned that I'm supposed to RG it if I want to do something about it. You know, as far as I know most of the cast is considered equal (exceptions being violinchick and theaterchick (and Kanna but she doesn't count)) so don't sweat the whole good/bad character deal.

Do you use MSN/AIM/IRC/Steam or anything like that? More often than not I'd be up for some EFZ or pretty much any non-SNK fighter, so I'd be pretty convenient. /jp/ only covers a few games, and it could get annoying to have to wait for or make a thread every time, especially when people barely play.

I actually have a channel on Rizon too but I haven't even sent my bot in there or anything in weeks.
If you have a channel somewhere then yeah, I'd totally be willing to idle for hours on end until a chance to play this comes up. If it's anything on Mizuumi that might not go too well though, bellreisa isn't my biggest fan for reasons I'd rather not go into. Cough cough.

By the way, Misaki's super where she launches that wind blast downward, is that unblockable? I swear it is, I got hit by that so many times when I didn't think I would. Or maybe it's just my inexperience.
