I happen to know for a fact that Remilia can go about during the daytime perfectly well. Of course, if it's especially bright she needs a parasol or else she will get sunburned.

Her powers are also weaker during the day, hence the need to cover the land in red mist.

So basically, she is able to go about during the day, but it is not her natural time and her powers are weak.
