I had a better impression of Takayuki thanks to his surroundings. Takayuki is a worthless faggot, but everyone around him compliments his indecisiveness as kindness so he comes off as being a good guy to the game world he lives in.

Takeru is less of a worthless faggot but he has people around him to remind him that he's being a faggot so he comes off looking worse than Takayuki in the game world.

The impression the other characters have of a character is pretty influential to how a character appears to the player
