I hate PoFV because I don't like any of the new characters from it and also all the Cirno memes came from it.

Riverside View is a good song.

But really, I didn't like it. The concept (VS curtain-fire shooter) just doesn't appeal to me.

I want a new one with all the characters in it. Including the ones from the first Phantasmagoria (Of Dimension Dream)

I like it better than any other touhou, simply because it's not just "lol memorization".

Phantasmagoria of Flower View is one of my favorites of the games, because of the competitive aspect of it. If only it had good netplay, it'd probably be my favorite. I also enjoy how hectic the battles can get, they're great fun.

The computer's cheats though? Bah. Hate that.

Yama and Komachi are interesting characters; it's a shame that their location means that they aren't going to have much to do with the rest of the cast.

I've never played multiplayer so I think the Phantasmagoria are shit.

The enemy AI tends to be stupid, so once you get into the latter stages of the game there's an invisible timer, and the enemy will perfectly dodge everything until the time runs out. On the last boss at least, there's also a secondary timer after she gets down to her last life.

The multiplayer is awesome when done right through Adonis. For me is a completely different experience when you play with someone else, it is just more fun. When I played it with a friend of mine it completely changed my opinion of the game.

The gameplay is good however I think the game is not very well balanced.

I mean, Shiki and Komachi have superior firepower to all the rest of the characters.

Also: Medicine screws up the computer AI big time, especially on Aldaris's stage.

It's the easiest Touhou game, just mindless dodging and no memorization required. It's got much more replay value than the others in the series, though.

EX Attacks are based on score in Touhou 9, so the chance is even for both sides.

It's easier for the AI to be bullshit about it in Touhou 3, where it depends on destroying certain enemies within an extremely short time span.

Komachi is not that overpowered, her scope ability can pretty much become something bad for you

Human vs. Human Multiplayer is pretty fun damn fun, but it's hard to get a match nowadays. Also, just fucking about with the Lunatic AI and seeing how far you could last was fun too, even though you knew you'd most likely end up losing (unless you're using Marisa, Medicine or Aya).

I'd enjoy a more polished Phantasmagoria game in the future, but it really need proper netcode this time too.

Also, I really want ZUN to add co-op multiplayer in new games. Playing shmups with a friend is pretty damn fun.

I played the shit out of it with friends who had no idea what touhou was. It was awesome playing with bros and calling touhous with weird names such as the knife chick, yingyang girl, richbitch, groper, aerith, birdie etc

Well yeah but the fact you can use it in-game makes it all better. Playing PoFV with Adonis makes it impossible to alt-tab without disconnecting, and IIRC it forces you to fullscreen. I for one always like to talk after rounds, it's fun to point out the awesome moments of the match or so.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that I don't need you to download or use Steam. If any of you wants to play just fire me an email.

I'm still working on trying to get the game to work on my computer. but eventually I'll ask to do netplay.

I played PoFV a relatively long time ago and couldn't really get into it because I couldn't configure the controls properly on a keyboard. What button layout does everyone else use?
