I'm currently studying abroad in Japan, and I fucking hate it here. The culture is filled with boring, perverted weirdos who have absolutely no backbone or individuality. It's really turned my off anime (see this post is related content after all). My problem is that I don't know how to get over my disdain for the Japanese people so that I can enjoy my animu.

The culture differs from the population. Eroge, JAV, and things of that nature are more media-based. Ero in Japan is not suppressed as much in the media, which explains why they have a lot less rapes (reported ones, at least).
