/a/ is a far more popular board, its mods can definitely use some improvement, as many of the times the only reason you can get banned or your thread deleted on /a/ is if you post NSFW material or CP, its community is not perfect, as many /v/irgins and /b/tards migrate to /a/ on a regular basis.

/jp/ is the polar opposite of this, it is hardly as popular, the mods are one of the strictest on 4chan, second only to /h/, often times you get banned or your thread removed unless it has anything and everything to do with Japan, and due in part to its own obscurity and the xenophobia of the regulars, a lot of the less than desirable users are driven away, but it is this "Tightly-knit" community of board regulars, these hyper-delusional Otakus that have been with /jp/ from the start and constantly berate and sage-bomb anything that does not accord exactly to his or her interests, these irrational people who most likely view themselves are 'Gentlemen of Leisure' that are killing /jp/

When /jp/ was created, 99% of them came from /a/. Now, /jp/'s population is 60% /a/, 20% /v/, 15% /b/, and 5% elsewhere.

i only come to /jp/ for VN discussions and sometimes those can be good. But damn are there a flux of pretentious trolls that can appear at any time.

Based on percentage userbase, yes
It also has the highest concentration, also based on percentage, of users using that site function as is should, to contribute without moving the topic to the front of the board.

Concerning the subject matter of "Otaku Culture/NEET and Hikkikomori General" yes we are the superior, more knowledgeable board on this subject matter. That is not to say that we cannot learn more; only that we, on average, know more about it.

/a/ is mainly berated because it was the parent board of /jp/, so everyone here used to lurk /a/ religiously, and when we see anything bad on it, Overflowing shittyness to lightly flowing shittyness, we cannot help but look at it nostalgically and think of how it seems to have gotten worse, even so this is purely subjective, you may think of /a/, or even this explanation however you like.

Think, for a second, of why someone would stay on /jp/, it isnt to troll the internet, not even always for some cool funny new whatever, or even for some new information on current events or occurrences.

Personally I come here to take it easy, and im sure many other sould say the same

Here's why people on /jp/ hate /a/ so much. Even though /jp/ is horrible, before 2010, /jp/ didn't really have "board events". Something may come along for a day or two, but it would quickly be taken care of by the janitor. Now, /jp/ gets daily /b/ raids.

That percentage is still awfully low. Far too many people sage for the sake of saging on /jp/, which is just as bad as thinking sage is negative. They're contributing on-topic posts in a thread that belongs on the board and they'll still sage in all their posts because that's what they do.

It might be difficult to understand but there's really no such thing as on-topic stuff. Everything with touhou slapped on it won't necessarily be welcome and other things can be discussed without being necessarily related to vns or even japan.
