Back years ago when I first started using MTL, I would agree with you, the translations weren't that great then and I did have to learn alittle bit of Japanese to make sense of the sentances it didn't get right. So I finished the Rina route in the original White Album.

I followed this http://adusa-ciel.my.coocan.jp/white_album/wa-hajime.htm walkthrough where the author says to reload everyday, but another walthrough said and my observation seems to confirm that the RNG gets decided per week on Sunday when you set your schedule. So that's where you need to reload.
Some events happened to me sooner than the walkthrough says they should, but overall it was really useful, since the game is clearly made for repeat playthoughs where you experiment with various choices and the RNG and not for modern-style playthoughs where you go through routes one by one. Also it allowed me to dodge one clear trap in Rina's route.
You're also allowed a quite high level of freedom. For example, it seemed I can avoid this entire event >>48343968 with Rina's manager that strongly shows the route's themes.

It's written in a very interesting way, but I want to read all the other routes before I comment on that more. Also, I'm interested in checking at least the Rina route in the remake. Someone on VNDB says that "the script for the original routes is the same" in the remake, which I find hard to believe.

Rina is mostly about how busy she gets with her idol career, or rather, how her manager and producer push her and how hard it's to keep a relationship like that. Especially the producer is a weird character. At times he supports you as Rina's boyfriend, and at times is depicted as an adversary.
There's one event scene where MC tries to tell him off, but it wasn't enough. At end where he tries to NTR you by confessing to Rina and kissing her (MC wonders if it's some weird plan to make Rina a stronger idol), I wish there was a scene where you tell him off. Actually I wish there was a more radical route variation where Rina decides to stop the idol job all together. Perhaps styled like WA2's Kazusa True route with gravitas gived to the decision.
Btw there's no real NTR. It all happens a day before a big idol contest. Rina calls you and you can visit her for the happy end or be a total retard and tell her to focus on the contest which ends with a noncomittal "Normal End"-style conclusion.

Rina is titled "The Heroine" in the ending movie and the game certainly does a lot to make you like and care for her. She's depicted as vulnerable when thrown the realities of the idol business and you want to save her. So the happy end is a happy one indeed.
But consider the other routes where you'll have to:
1. Ignore Rina and go for her idol rival instead.
2. Ignore Rina and go for your senpai instead. Btw that senpai is also friends with Rina too and your guy buddy is in love with her too (the senpai).
3. Ignore Rina and go for your ultra carefree osananajimi.
4. Ignore Rina and go for a JK you're tutoring.
5. Ignore Rina and go for Rina's manager.
You know how sometimes the bond or love between the MC and the heroine is shown to be so strong, you're reluctant to play other routes? That's certainly a thing here for me. But I'm interested in how will things play out.

You know, I can see why WA2 was called WA2 and wasn't some new IP. Though WA2 is of course on another level.
For now my recommendation is to try it out.
Read Rina route like me and see if you like it.
