Seeing as she's pretty easy to beat, I imagine her power isn't as awesome as it sounds to most youkai or powerful humans. I can't imagine all the magic (divine or otherwise) users wouldn't have protective charms or magics that could protect at least somewhat against the more nasty powers.

After that she just doesn't have the knack for duelling.

True, but compared to someone like Yuugi, Yamame gives off that whole stage 1 boss minor obstacle feel. So until I see the cast taking her seriously like she's lethal shit (and not just disgusting because of her disease powers) I'm assuming she's a Stage 1 knock over.

I still like her character design though.

The difference between her and the other idiot Stage 1 bosses is not that she doesn't know how to use her powers to their fullest, but that she doesn't want to, because despite her power set, she's actually very friendly.

True, it's not, but that's kind of the point. Yuugi has background to back her strength up, she's a Oni, one of the four divas (another being Suika) and she takes the whole duel as a friendly challenge.

Yamame has a nice stage 1 boss power, granted, but she just doesn't seem that threatening.
