The super pitched Miku doesn't sound too bad with Zundamon & Teto in "Noda" & between the three of them, there's a nice balance. Also, I like how Gekiyaku & Kazehiki sound in "Wakaremichi". Their voices sound distinctive & more energetic in comparison to some of the demo songs that were initially released with the pair.

It’s pretty clear that we’re in a second golden age, but the scope is unclear. The fandom is more decentralized than it was. Producers are relatively hard to discover. We will be digging up great songs in 5 years that were written now and went unnoticed because there was no yt algo boost or whatever. You could say the same for other big booms, but I feel that it’s especially strong for this one.
In other words, we can tell it’s golden, but we won’t know just how golden it is for a long time.

I feel like the Japanese prouducers shifting to Youtube has been a net positive overall. The producers who don't get blessed by random algorithm boosts would have been just as unknown back in NND. And the algorithm sometimes just ends up boosting great stuff into the spotlight. I'm actually seeing lots of <5k views songs in my recommendations and I often check them out, stuff I never would have found before.
Anyway, the golden age will certainly last at least for as long as Project Sekai is popular, that really is injecting a ton of life into the scene, not just by attracting new people, but new songs that get added to the game get a huge boost in popularity for their respective producers, plus commissioned songs ensuring a steady stream of high-quality stuff both from established as well as upcoming producers (and I'm sure, some added monetary incentive for producers doesn't hurt). PJSK will one day die off and we'll see how the scene will sustain itself, it will be like 2014 days again except with more people this time, maybe it will keep going strong. The AI voicebanks making tuning more accessible is something that can also help attract and retain new producers.

The "free version" only comes with two songs, the actual game is split into two massive packs that you buy separately. Yes it is very good, easily one of the best Diva games. Modded Megamix on PC is pretty much an objective upgrade though.

Yes, you should at least try the demo songs.
I didn't buy it at first with how different it looked from the other Diva games, but years later and I'm still not bored (though currently playing MM+).
X is also a lot of fun, the song list is just a bit short.

police piccadilly went through such a rapid genre shift in their career I genuinely had no idea these songs were by the same peron until i looked them up again. Also I'm surprised that they never made a song with Renri's SV voicebank despite being the most notable producer to use her.

Renri's SV from all the songs I heard feature heavy engine noise, her Utau bank is just better IMO. I wouldn't say Police Piccadilly changed this drastically, he went from mostly pop rock to mostly pop but the production quality, polish and tuning are still similar.
