/a/, today is my 23rd birthday. My mom came over today, and the only present she brought over was a box of condoms. Then she asked me why I haven't introduced her to any special girls yet.

I took a slight sigh and told her I didn't need the box of condoms. She replied "Well just take them anyway, for whenever you need them". I told her "No really, I don't need them. Just give them to my brother, I'm sure he'll find use for it. He is 17 after all..."

My mother gave me an annoyed look and asked "You are practicing safe sex...right?...". I knew she wouldn't get the hint unless I told her, so I said "Look, I haven't even kissed a person yet, much less even date one. I really don't need them, they'll just expire with me."

She continued on "But they expire in 2011..." I just said "Exactly" and she looked down at her bag that she brought it in and said "Oh okay then. Well, I just came to drop this off and say happy birthday anyway. I'm just going to drop by the bathroom before I leave." So I went to my room while she went on with her business. About 5 minutes later she comes into my room to tell me she's leaving. She hasn't been into my room since I moved in, but she always knew I was into anime stuff anyway (or "that korean stuff" as she says).

She laughed a bit and said "You told me you didn't have anyone special, but here you are sleeping with her every day." I looked at what she was pointing at, it was my Miyako body pillow on my bed. I said "Oh yea, right" and gave off a obviously fake laugh. So after that moment I walked her out the door and made sure she got out safely to the taxi before locking the door.

I looked on my table and saw the bag she brought the box of condoms in. I opened it up to find a Miyako figure inside also along with the condoms....

My dad thinks I'm awesome because I lie to him and don't watch shitty anime series. The only ones he knows I watch are GITS:SAC and LOGH, which he doesn't mind since he's a Star Trek/Wars nerd.

They don't seem to like it but don't complain directly at it. Sometimes they just go "you should go out bla bla bla" but I don't give a fuck.

They don't really care since I'm a university student.

I think they hope I can get a job when I'm done, and I hope for something where I can actually use some of the stuff I learn.

They do a good job of completely avoiding the subject.

My parents (read: grandfather) keep trying to get me to learn Chinese because apparently everyone who learns Chinese makes six figures.

My father does not care and my mother supports me. Always been like that and always will be.
And it's not like i have my room full of that with posters or some shit. Only like 100 manga on a shelf and my dvds inside a display cabinet.
No figures or dolls or something that screams weeaboo because that is stupid, costs money and screams loser.

My father pretty much ignores it and my mother is fine with it since she understands that I like to collect things.
She'll give me a "are you serious?" look sometimes when I get a new figure or something but then she will suggest a place to put it.

My parents nag me about not introducing girls to them. I always tell them I want to focus on my career and shit like that.

They don't know I given up on 3D, they probably think the reason I never had a GF is due to being gay.

My parents generally leave me alone. I think they're worried I don't go out and party with friends like they did when they were 19/20s, but generally they don't care.

My mom thinks I'm gay, and my dad doesn't really have a problem. He's really nice and respects my lifestyle.

They're okay with it and they never try to get me to talk about it either. Thankfully, they're not completely dense and I think they've realised I don't care about getting into any sort of relationship.

Ultimately, they just want me to get a secure income and move out.

My father doesn't seem to care, where as my mother will take any merchandise/DVD's I buy and think I bought them for her. Did this once with a set of G Gundam DVD's I bought for my younger cousin for his birthday before I had wrapped it.

I've basically retreated into a fantasy world where I can be with my beloved Remilia in peace. I no longer react to the real world. Dad left home a week ago, I didn't even notice, then he came back anyway. No job means no figures or anything, all I have is a couple of DVDs.

They have no idea. My father doesn't know a thing and my mother, she knows I like anime and she's aware that Touhou exists but she doesn't know anything either.

My mother asks me about it, and is curious about my lifestyle.

My parents are supreme churchfags, especially my mom. They used all sorts of pressure and guilt to keep me from interacting with girls and being corrupted by the secular world when I was young. So naturally I've got so many issues with even dealing with women that I don't consider it worth the effort anymore, despite lots of therapy. Now all of a sudden my parents are worried that I'm not ever going to get married, much less give them grandkids. Fuck them. They broke me beyond repair, and for all I care they can reap as they sown.

Why can't the cunts invade a non-interesting thread, if they must exist at all.

My parents have only ever been supportive of me. I have a couple of other hobbies in addition to otaku stuff and university studies and they always encourage me whatever I try (and fail) to do.

They have never even mentioned girlfriends to me. I think they just accept the fact that I am not currently interested, and that it's not something I really want to discuss with them.

I'm a sick fuck who is waiting for his surgery to be scheduled and, I quit my job last year due to health problems. Since my mother and my stepfather tried to get me a new job through their friends, but I wasn't even called for an interview, both of them gave up on getting me a job until I'm better, but they don't like the fact that I won't go out unless I have to and that I only have regular contact with two of my childhood friends. I help my mother with some stuff on the house and I take and pick my younger brother at the school, so they don't have much too complain about.
