Simple Japanese learning question.

When using SRS(Anki), do I add all of the Hiragana/Katakana, or just a few at a time?

It seems like if I add too few i'm not learning enough, but naturally I think if I add too many i'm giving myself too much to do.

I meant to say alphabet, i've just started y'see. I'm gonna do the same for Kanji but am just gonna get started on the others.

Learn hiragana and katakana through drilling, not SRS.

You really don't need software to learn the kana. Just find some manga or even just browse /jp/ normally to practice.

Well, you're a faggot then. You can learn both Hiragana and Katakana in an hour.

when I learnt hiragana in primary school (grade 5) the teacher used cards that were somewhat relevant to the symbols. like "ka" was a "car" driving off a cliff (a bit morbid..), "ke" was a "keg", and so on. it worked I guess because I still remember most of them and haven't looked at it for over 10 years.

although that's perhaps something that would work better on children since they respond more to that kind of thing. just throwing an idea out there.

How long will it take for me to not have to look up any Japanese words? I know about 5,100 and I still keep finding tons of words I don't know.

You mean find manga, find word - look up characters and then find out the words meaning? (making it FUN)

Oh my god that makes sense now, next step is finding a decent manga!

I'm sure I could, if I understood HOW

OP here, even I know that.

Immersion, if you label stuff in japanese, watch stuff in japanese, read japanese, listen to japanese. You know what it is, where it's used etc

Basically unleash the Weeaboo within. Not something I wanted to do tbh but my listening has improved simply by sticking something on for most of the day.
