Alright reading jeweha and MC confessed to one of the girls and her h-scene seems to be a separate episode from the main story. I'm going to assume that's the case for the other heroines. I can only assume that there'll be no romance in the actual main story which is an odd choice

Do you guys save up your cum for when you read a VN? I feel like it makes the romance and subsequent h-scenes more personally impactful.

Personally I’m very frustrated by the fact that Madosoft heroines are written in such a way that I fall in love with how adorable they are but their visual designs are not for me at all. Finished RiaImo common route, gonna start on Mai's route tomorrow. The series of events towards the end of the common route was really compelling and did a great job at setting up dramatic foreshadowing for all three of the routes.

One thing I find notable so far is how well-written and cohesive this game is. Stories that lean heavily into otaku culture have the potential to be astonishingly bad, like Fushimi Tsukasa's LNs (which also happen to be imouto-themed and not done nearly as well as RiaImo). But Orgel just gets it, she's able to take archetypal character types, throw them into awkward and sometimes overdone situations, and make them say things you've heard in anime and eroge before, while making it all feel surprisingly natural and not annoying. That's seriously impressive.

Finished Silverio Vendetta. God damn, that was amazing. It was a given that I would highly enjoy it given my personal taste, but I really wasn't expecting it to be so well-written and fascinating on many levels. For me, what really takes a chuuni game beyond "hey cool fights" and to the next level is if the characters are convincing enough and they nailed it for me. I absolutely love it when characters are all full of troubled pasts and complex relationships that get revealed as the story goes on. Like from the beginning, you're lead to believe Mars and Uranus simply killed everyone and Zephyr ran away out of fear. But of course that's just the surface level look. It turns out that Zephyr actually murdered Millie's parents, had a mental breakdown because of it and ended up betraying Libra. Then even later, you learn that Zephyr was actually mentally breaking down before all of that because of Chitose orders and then actually was the one who gouged out her eye (which only makes her more obsessed with him heh). That just adds even more personal character layers to whole event which was just seemingly nothing more "big scary monsters kill people" at first.

The whole 勝利 thing is motif of the entire game, and I personally found it really interesting. It's woven throughout the entire story and reflected from many angles from lots of different characters. Take Valzelide who is ostentatiously described as an 英雄 throughout the whole game. And indeed, he possesses basically all of the qualities a heroic main character would have: unwavering iron will, slum upbringing, obtained results via hard work, etc. He always moves forward and always wins. Valzelide essentially goes from one 勝利 to the next 勝利 and on and on and on. The narrative doesn't glorify this. It actually does the opposite. It shows you how broken and defective he is as a person. As it's pointed out, he does all of these great endeavours and efforts for nobody in particular beyond the faceless masses. He has no "誰か" to speak of. In that way, he's not like the shounen manga hero that fights for his friends which is relatable to most people. He's actually more like some kind of slave to concept of being a hero. Contrast that to Zephyr, our protagonist, who constantly refers to himself as a 負け犬 (wow he's literally me). The contrast and similarities between Zephyr and Valzelide for me was one of the most interesting things, writing-wise about the game. The fact that Zephyr is chosen to be sort of a 凡人 representative against the almighty 英雄 I found quite unique.

On the heroine front, Millie is a nice girl but let's be real here. Chitose and Vendetta are the interesting ones here. I liked that Chitose basically is a self-concious 恋する乙女. It's reasonably common that you get the sort of tough, fighting/military girl character who is just too dumb to realize that what she actually wants is some man's dick. It's one of my personal favorite archetypes in this genre. The twist that Chitose puts on this idea is that she had this realization 5 years ago before the story starts. So she is self-aware the entire time and acts like it. It's pretty refreshing. Another nice thing about this is that prior to falling in love, she is actually a lot like Valzelide. Chitose is totally 英雄 material that fought for 正義 and all that mumbo-jumbo. What set her apart was that she realized doing that was stupid and learned how to chose わがまま instead.

As for Vendetta, who doesn't love a flat chest with 毒舌? But more seriously, the past reveal between Zephyr and Vendetta did not disappoint me. You learn early on that 魔星 previously lived as normal people. And it was obvious Vendetta was originally someone from Zephyr's past. So you spend most of the game wondering what exactly happened. And oh boy, incest caused by a mental breakdown from a stress overload? Zephyr was understandably terrified of nee-san's freakish fake persona? This small 罪 is actually the source of Valzelide's and カグツチ's defeat because they were both too autistically focused on the future? Damn, I just love shit like this. Vendetta's route is the only where Zephyr finally gets his answer to what 勝利 is and obviously is the most thematically complete one.

I also liked how every route thematically fit. Millie's route is 逃亡, Chitose is 勝利, and Vendetta is of course 逆襲. I guess the that one bad end counts as 敗北. Can't really write too much about that. I enjoyed it all, but obviously Vendetta's route is the standout one here and what really elevated the game for me. The route for the main girl has to be good, but this went above and beyond for me on all sorts of levels. The fights were insane, all the little character details were done just write, the twists were great, writing was engaging, etc. This is one of those ones I won't ever forgot. Honestly, I'm a bit nervous about reading Trinity next since I'm not sure if it'll be able to live up to Vendetta.

The only other non-Masada light game I've played was Magatsu Barai. I think the argument Masada is trying to make here is less about aggressive expansion or conquest, but more about the attitude towards taking the life of another countryman vs taking the life of your fellow countryman. When I watched the opening I was immediately taken back to the nostalgic time I read much older VNs, VNs of high quality, modern VNs just aren't nearly as good.

Although it only really has two stand out pieces for the tense situations. Great art, voice acting is really good and more 'alive' than most VNs where they just say the flat line "kya..". Engaging and interesting story, the faceless background characters are written on par to the main characters, some of them are more interesting than the actual heroines.

It really is a great pure love story without that boring ass drama unrelated to the characters.
And then after investing time into the heroine I like's route, I find out near the end she's being forced to take erotic pictures and send them to an old man.

I'm so sick of these fucking scenario writers inserting their disgusting fucking cuck fetishes into every good VN, it ruins everything. This VN was so fucking good up until that point. I mean it.

So far the first route I played, Yuuna's, was directly ntr drama, the mc even gets hard watching her expose herself on video for her grandfather who tortured and molested her and later on flips the script and actually wants her to visit him on his deathbed by saying "He's not a monster".

This heroine is thankfully devoid of such things however the way the MC acts is written extremely unnaturally in the h-scene he practically wants to cuck himself, for some reason he's absurdly angry about her not telling him she was a virgin, like it seriously sticks out so much it pulls you right out of the story. "I should have forced you off and pulled it out". This is extremely weird to say.
