True, she's going to learn a lot of things about her own body, what makes it tick, what makes it hot and bothered, and how another girl can quench that fire in her loins. Suwako's long tongue isn't just for show.
Who could stop this lecherous frog? Not some weakling human, that's for sure.

I'm not a Shinto priest, but...if you wanted to be very technical about it maybe nothing. Kegare and tsumikegare are a bit different anyway. Kegera is this mix of literal dirtiness and kind of metaphysical infectious bad vibes and misfortune. This must be cleaned out for the sake of everyone but particularly if one wishes to aproach the kami.

Tsumikegare is...weird. It's kegare that results from tsumi. There are two types of tsumi: amatsutsumi, tsumi of heavens, and kunitsutsumi, tsumi of earth. Tsumi of heavens is things that interfere with rice agriculture plus scattering around shit and "skinning an animal backwards". These are taken from the legends where Susanoo does all these things and upsets Amaterasu Oomikami so much that she goes to hide in cave and plunges the world in to darkness. It makes sense that something that would screw over a community would be considered something extra bad.

Kunitsutsumi is where things get weird. It's a really miscellancelous list of things like having warts or tumors, incest, zoophilia, killing other people's livestock, "damage from high-flying birds" and "having white skin" among other things. Apparently these days not even the most read Shinto scholars know what the last two mean. The white skin thing was never a race thing for what's it worth. These are things which some are wilfully done, but others like getting bitten by certain insects are out of your control.

Interestingly enough "insulting the kami" is on neither list, but I would assume it would have landed you in trouble and been interpreted as being some kind of an amatsutsumi. After all, the skinning animals thing and scattering shit thing were something Susanoo did to interfere with rituals that Amaterasu Oomikami was doing.

At the very least, some of the posts were metaphorical scattering of shit.

Ahh, the next question will be sounding rather frivolous, but please consider it in good faith.
If I understand now correctly, tsumikegare is a filth resulting from specific actions (tsumi), which includes in kunitsutsumi 'zoophilia'. Would being carnal with a beast youkai count among kunitsutsumi then, or not, by virtue of youkai having spiritual aspect differentiating them from mere beasts? To somehow ground it in mythology, would Abe no Seimei, if he was indeed half-kitsune, be considered tsumikegare?
The recent Keine thread still lingers in my mind.

I considered it in good faith and I honestly have no idea. I would need a substantially better understanding of these ideas and Japanese mythology.

But I love to speculate, so let's go.

My gut feeling is that it wouldn't be considered, if just for the simple reason that people who were considered to have some kind of inherent kegare to them were marginalized. This was at times very cruel and some were considered "manifoldly impure" and impossible to purify. Abe no Seimei in turn was extremely highly esteemed. Someone considered to have some kind of irredeemable kegare qualities would have not been in his position.

I also don't think youkai, even when appearing as animals, were considered to be animals. As far as I know youkai were essentially kami (broadly understood) that had an uncooperative, feral nature or kami that had been scorned so badly they went berzerk and refused to be appeased anymore. Even then, they could play an ambigous role or be wrangled into co-operation or submission. Kitsune were at times essentially vampiric, other times they were messengers of Inari Ookami, a widely revered deity-kami and at times they were said to marry humans. The tengu had both negative and positive legends associated with them. Even the kappa could be wrangle into submission and be made to teach you the art of bone-setting.

I don't know if youkai were considered kegare or sources of kegare in itself, but people did try to keep them away and banish them. Considering how kegare is thought to be a misfortune magnet, people would have probably thought it would draw in youkai. Maybe some youkai were kami who went berserk because of exposure to too much kegare.

More to the point, if you insisted your kitsune wife to look like a fox, boned her so and got caught you would have been considered a freak, been in big trouble and the theological debate whether this was kunitsukegare or not would have been the least of your problems.
