4756184 No.4756184 [Reply] [Original]

So, wait, the solution to Umineko is that Battler, as a twelve year old, made a promise to a maid(which by all means could be seen as childish boasting), and due to internal issues at home among other things, forgot said promise, and that warranted the maid going crazy and killing everyone?

And we're supposed to feel SORRY for said maid?

Really?

Kohaku was actually a good character, and she didn't slaughter people needlessly.

Shannon, on the other hand, kills people because a twelve year old made a "promise" to her.

That somehow gives her the right to slaughter and decieve everyone who has ever cared for her, ever.

You know, regardless of who Beatrice is, I think it is a mistake to assume that that person is also the (only) murderer. It should be fairly obvious that there are a number of factors at work here, and there is no way that all the murders are being carried out by a single person.

However, if you try to tag Beatrice not as a murderer, but rather a 'facilitator' things might make a bit more sense. She may still kill depending on the situation, but she is also aware of the various other factions among the people on the island and she knows what buttons to push to get the results she wants.
