Pfft, anyone you get after defeating Mouri is starting to be so late in the game that there's next to nothing to do anymore. Maybe beating Dokuganryuu or the last scrap with Demon army.

It's annoying how you can't leave eastern Japan alone since Takeda is right next to Mamushi oil field, and will declare a war on you in nearly every route. And you don't want to have that war drag because of the fucking blitzes. And when you beat Takeda, fucking HOJOU declares war.

月光 Gekko: You get him from picking the same New Game + bonus as you get Shizuka from. He cut off his arm and adopted a Loli girl (Shinobu) to be his Right Hand in its place. The two appear in battle together (but strangely, he appears alone in Dungeons). He's got poor defence but is brutally powerful with 6 action points! He also has Assassination Skill +, which gives you 100% chance to kill an enemy which run out of actions. If you also get him to learn Assassination 2 then he becomes possibly the best assassin in the game.

This is in Kichikuou, which isn't canon.
So far Rance has two kids, Dark Rance from the devil Ferris and the unborn child of Isoroku.

In Kichikuou Rance fucks the Queen of Kalar and gets her pregnant.
Rance is currently on his way to the village of Kalar to find out how to get Sill unfrozen, so I'm expecting his daughter to be canon. She's adorable in Kichikou. I'm really looking forward to 8.

You get Gekko and Shizuka by picking the "hidden characters" option in the family bonuses, which costs TWENTY FUCKING POINTS.
But it's worth it. They're probably the best characters in the game.

I've only played through Kichikuou once to get some bad ends out of the way so far. (I didn't save Sill and Soul.)
I'm gonna play it again and go for the happy ends. The Kalar should know how to unfreeze her. Either that or Ho-Raga probably knows.

One of the sweetest clears in Sengoku Rance. She gets used for comedy relief all the way throughout, but right at the end she breaks down from all the horrible things she's had to endure to bring back her family. Rance shows a heart of gold and everything is better.

Me and some other guy here expressed interest in translating other games from the series, but we need a hacker. The person who hacked Sengoku said he does not wish to do any more Rance games before.

And not trying to be an ass, but I wouldn't want people whose Japanese isn't REAL good work on this. You need to be around JLPT1 level to properly understand everything (Rance is one of the few games I played that actually use a lot of the JLPT1 grammar). I wouldn't want a Rance game to get a translation similar to the Hatsukoi project.

I might be able to help with the program hacking AND translation. I've been programming shit as a hobby for a year now, and I've taken five years of Moon, so I have the vocabulary of a retarded eight year old, but it gets the job done with translations.
We should seriously try this out. It'll be one of the only things /jp/ has ever been good for.

If you can even just extract the script from any of the games be sure to let us know. We were thinking to do one of the following:

- Rance 02 (the remake): the first "real" Rance game, remake is done very nicely (the original first few games aged pretty poorly), short and fun game. I could probably do the translation alone in a few weeks, but the more the better. Newest system so hardest to hack though.

- Rance VI: the most recent and graphically appealing of the RPGs, great game but LONG. Will definitely need more people.

- Kichikuoh Rance: a bit aged, but most similar to Sengoku, supposedly awesome (not that far yet myself). May be easiest to hack.

The other RGPs are pretty dated and I'd rather do 02 before III or IV for obvious reasons. 4.x and 5D are kinda meh.

The remake of the second game would be the one I'd like to do first as it's the only one of the three I've finished (though I'll be done with 6 in a couple of weeks or so, but that one is really really long while 2 is fairly short and not as text-heavy). It does use the most recent system though.
