The magazines don't get subbed as much, you'll find them on the tracker and on youtube.
As for the donation thing, yea they may be collected from a lot of different sources but many of those sources aren't around or aren't direct download either.

It looks like he just updated on March 1st which is good because it had been months. You can look at his header to see what exactly you get.
From what I understand you get hi-speed servers obviously, access to some non public files.

Its probably much better organized as well and would be good if you were going to move into the Yorosen episodes or finding old appearances specials.

Next comes the famous Hawaii group shots with their fans. As for the ratio thing you are talking about, keep in mind that it costs around 3,000 dollars to go through with this trip, if you are lucky enough to be selected, so some real die hard fans are there.

Well its quite possible those three posts were all from the same person, whether they are a troll or not.
The point is this, those who are on the outside looking pick up on certain details, foreign fans pick up specific types of details. Now if a girl fan was watching some of the Hawaii events and had no frame of reference of what the established community is I can see this kind of reaction.
Of course I don't hate the wota, they help me get a lot of the waifu information I would never have access to. But at the same time, it is an extreme disadvantage in Japan to have a bad reputation whether it is warranted or fabricated over time. This coupled along with the extreme fad/drone mentality that the general public exerts over there, many people just utilized hateful stereotypes and go with them because it makes their worlds easier to understand and unfortunately in the process is very hurtful.

But hands down, I haven't witnessed fans as dedicated as some of these wotas, for any type of music period. I'm sure the boybands in Japan are probably just as intense with their fans.

Concert chants are really cool, true. Perhaps if they were a bit higher pitched lol (I believe even Tsunku's commented on this). Those indian rain dance circles are a different story though. The members obviously don't think it's cool, they see it as a sideshow. I think that's a little much, as I said I like the other members...a lot actually...but I only have one waifu (as it should be) and only so much free time/money. I listen to GakiKame FIVE STARS and Konya mo, etc (work is 40 minutes away, which gives me plenty of time for radio shows and some of my best Musume time - hence my reaction to Ichigo Ichie ending ;_________________________;)...but when it comes to stuff like FC DVDs, TV appearances, concert goods, etc I usually stick just to things involving Aichan. Sad fact is that none of these girls can write worth a crap when you get down to it. It's a combination of them not being allowed to talk openly, and them (Japan in general?) thinking that quantity > quality, which results in posts that are practically worthless since they give you no real insight or provide you with any valuble information. People are more into the pictures than the actual writing. And from the translations I've read none of the girls are good writers which is a shame since that could maybe save the dull subject matter. This might be on the translators, but I doubt that.

Maki's US blog was decent though, simply because no one really knew what the hell she was doing, (again: gag order). But if she opened a Twitter or blog that was the same quality as the other H!P girls', I'm not sure that I would follow it. I get a big enough dose of her meaningless whatever in the Mail magazines, haha.

It really depends on what you want to know about your favorite idols. In Shige's case I think her blog sheds a lot of light about how she thinks and reacts to events in her Musume career. It also demonstrates her inner character and her interests. The same thing goes for Reina too. I don't have to remind you that Musume girls really never have had the ability to blog so openly so its interesting to see them open up and give us the fine details.

I mean look at this Hawaii trip, we've never had them blogging by the hour about what exactly was going on there. That information is quite valuable in my opinion.

My apologies if I give off that vibe, I don't intend to (although I know I often do...). One of the really great things about MM is that there's an idol for everyone, and I certainly appreciate the strengths/weaknesses of the other members (Sayu's shameless appeals are awesome, I adore Aika's energy, Reina has grown on me immensely since Kaitou Reinya started, and so on). But at the same time...for me, Aichan is perfect imperfection, the ideal girl, as if almost every facet of her was created to inspire my love ;_______; No one could ever match up to her, ever.
I feel that every member deserves that kind of affection and devotion, and I view the fanbase situation in Japan as ideal because each member has their own diehard wota who (for the most part) do just that. I'm of the opinion that the most loving fans are created through singular devotion.
Not to invalidate your approach, of course...obviously you care about these girls a lot. But clearly your dedication is still different from most others who claim to "love every member equally", or however you want to phrase it.
I guess I should say, the two approaches are certainly not incompatible.
