They're hard to compare. Edelweiss was funnier. Because Kira Kira had a more realistic setting/feel several events in it felt unrealistic. Haruma was probably a better protagonist, but I can relate to Shikanosuke (?) much more.

It wasn't about the "story".
Kira Kira was from the beginning to the end a story about growing up, there is a reason why it started with the protag being dumped by his girlfriend.

And it did it really well, it was entertaining without ever going to the LOL PARODY forced humor that is so prevalent in VNs and it was actually well written with a pretty great narration.

But the best thing about it was how subdued it was compared to pretty much every VNs I played, the situations and characters, their personalities and experiences, actually felt realistic rather than being simple anime archetype.
That made the whole thing really worth playing, you really felt like you were watching a bunch of teenagers having fun doing a band rather than the usual "let's watch the usual moe character who was obviously written to pander to my taste"
The whole second chapter was wonderful.

And for the drama, it was also pretty subdued and everything was actually pretty normal, especially the way the characters reacted to these situation.
Even Kirari's normal route, for those who will go FORCED DRAMA, the focus of that route wasn't about that accident but rather about how the protag copped with it.
That focus was once again very realistic, no exaggerated emotions here.

Kira Kira is really an eroge that is very appreciable if you realize how different it is compared to most other and how well it portrayed the simple story of a bunch of teenagers growing up.

Why do people always recommend getting an acoustic guitar first? Cost notwithstanding, if you're going to play electric guitar music, it makes sense to learn on an electric guitar. This makes you more conscious of elements specific to electric guitar playing, such as controlling feedback and string noise.

If it's hand strength and training you're worrying about, just use a higher gauge of strings and a higher action.
