I had listened to recommendation, bought Shoot the Bullet and played it. Had a sleepless night, cleared all scenes up to level 3, now I need a break. But it is great, indeed. At the same time more forgiving in learning and more demanding in execution then mainline titles. Also, this might be lack of sleep talking through me, but it felt somewhat psychodelic past level 2. Even when you die, music isn't interrupted and you simply restart, welcomed almost immedietely by spell card's patterns that killed you moment ago.
And it is nice to see Aya's smile once you clear a scene, knowing you are partly responsible.

I dunno, Aya's one of those 'I miss the old days' kind of tengu and I can't see her giving up what she has in Gensokyo for the outside world unless she had no choice.
If she did have to move to the big city for work, I think she would be miserable. Cramped, can't fly, can't stretch her wings, journalism work is always extortionate, no respect, no friends (and trust me, no friends in the city somehow feels worse than no friends in the country) and no particular prospects because she strikes me as the type to be completely awful with technology that is just commonplace nowadays.

Actually abducted humans didn't technically have a position in Tengu society, our status was way more akin to property which was a blessing and a curse.
When a human is abducted, there's a whole procedure that goes on, the rules of which I can barely trace, to verify that the Tengu indeed had the right to abduct the human, such as in the case of trespassers or agreements with the village, if they didn't, the human had to be released. If they did indeed have the right to abduct the human, then a sort of vested interest procedure began where various Tengu parties were allowed to claim the human, based on status, if they're responsible for the abduction, distribution of wealth proportional to positions, and a few other factors which decided who got to decide the human's fate, within reason of course.
A Tengu could decide to eat an abducted human they had claim to, but they would suffer a severe blow to their status since the practice is seen as hedonistic and wasteful, even if they shared with everyone else, other Tengu would just assume you were trying to curry undue favor, and one of the factors that affected whether or not you got an abducted human was what you did with the last one as well as votes by your peers so you might be screwing yourself 100 years down the line.
This is all to say that, as an abductee, you had a little protection in how you were treated as property, but it also meant you were expected to give some return, like bearing children, or raising your owner's status, or doing labor...

"If your needs aren't being met you should have told me. How can you expect to work optimally while starving?" She chastised as she cleaned her mouth with a handkerchief.
"Have those corrections made and make your ways to my quarters this evening." Megumu said, tapping the stack of papers. "Oh, I suppose you can't fly... I'll send a White Wolf to escort you later. Make sure you're done by then." She concluded before sauntering off.

Getting abducted by the Tengu isn't all fun and games like you think it is, they don't take turns it's a FFA!
I think it's been around three days since I was grabbed by an innocent-looking white wolf, thinking I had scored it big when she took me in, only to find out that every man they find is shared equally to build camaraderie amongst the ranks.
