This is now a shitting on printworks thread. Lord knows they deserve it, especially the manga. Basically, everything after CiLR sans Sangetsusei is trash.
What's the worst thing about the printworks to you? To me it's the retcons of the good ones.

Unironically CDS. The whole story of the manga feels unnatural to me. Reimu was supposed to be a lazy, weak, slacker, and unreliable shrine maiden, not the other way around. CDS is like a 2hu version of battle shounen manga, which irritated me every time a new chapter came out. I prefer to read more high quality SoL stories like Lotus Eater and Forbidden Scrollery or more fairy manga seems to be ok for me.

Because the prints are huge lore dumps and as essential for understanding thing as the game. While games will always be more important, you are still missing about half the content and will be uninformed and subject to someone else's headcanon, like a secondary.

Not him but in my eyes lore dumps always feel like fan service, and primary are people who play games and chase high achievements. I mean, whether you like it or not, Touhou is a video game franchise, and the funny part is that it follows arcade philosophy rather than home console philosophy, where the game is always the main content and the story is just secondary/side content

By IN he admitted in his emails that he was already forgetting plot details, and in the final chapter of WaHH (the ending of which I will never forgive as a Kasen fan) he admits in the afterword that he doesn't really know what to do when a manga goes beyond 3 volumes. It's just that the worldbuilding was so limited before the 2nd generation of games that he could coast by without people noticing.

Nah, he cooked with her overall. I like her internal conflicts, and decently nuanced characters are actually one of the only things ZUN is good at when it comes to writing.

I got it for 10 bucks since it was on sale and Steam has a pity system for third world currencies. I like the KotH a lot better than 3's. Haven't tried the other gamemodes yet, but seems worth it so far. For that price, at least.
