I like this trend. Rather than argue over whether or not Youkai eat humans (because it depends on ZUN's mood at the time), we can just have two Gensokyos, Lightsokyo and Darksokyo/Grimsokyo. In Darksokyo the Youkai will kidnap and eat you, and in Lightsokyo they will invite you to tea parties.
