Sorry if I'm not being clear enough, the usual explanation of を is that "it marks the direct object of a verb"/"it's the object that's the verb being acted upon", so I assumed を would be used together with "transitive verbs"/"verbs that directly affects/alters the object" like 食べる.
But 歩く doesn't alter an object, it's an intransitive verb that doesn't need an object, it also doesn't alter the object directly, thus eliminating を usage. But here it's used together with 公園を歩く. I'm so confused, I thought nips would use 公園で歩く to express that they are walking through the park, but instead を is used here.

According to kotobank を has those two usages, marks the direct object but also the place where a directional action is done. I think you should just learn both usages as seperate things and since one is used for transitive verbs only and the other for intransitive it's easy to know which is used in a sentence.

The を particle marks the direct object in all cases except when marking specified routes or tracks. It's one of the few times you'll see it be used with intransitive verbs, outside of colloquial speech of course.

This shouldn't confuse you seeing as this is the normal usage of に. 乗る ("to get on") is an intransitive verb, so it doesn't take a direct object, and に just marks the destination of the action, 電車 ("the train").
I know you're probably reading this and being like, "wait, I already knew that," but the fundamentals can surprisingly be hard to get down. I've seen Jamal and co. make so many beginner mistakes, it's unreal.
