I recently saw a movie which I'm 99% sure was recommended by someone here. But I cannot remember the name, and google gives me nothing.
It was a surrealist story about a home teacher being hired to teach the younger brother in a family.
They live in a high rise building. The husband always takes people out in the car to talk.
The kid is an autistic edge lord and fights at school.
The teacher is no-nonsense and rude. Slaps the kid when he misbehaves. Teaches him to fight.
The ending scene is the family and the teacher all lined up in front of a long table. They begin eating normally, but it slowly falls apart and in the end they are throwing food at each other, while still pretending everything is normal.

The thing is that typical dramatic acting looks more emphasized than in english, and they always use an expressive voice, making everyone look like they're hamming their performances. The thing that women do when they want to look cute is even more unnatural.
It's just what has become recognized as acting.
They're not always using this acting style, and most actors can act "normally" to more western standards, but its entirely up to the director. Modern dramatic jidaigeki avoids it entirely, because it doesn't fit in. It can be made to even work for the film, like Before We Vanish.

I don’t know who these faggots are but the movie does not glorify kamikazes, nor their pilots. It just depicts one fictional pilot and how, in his fictional story, he ended up as a kamikaze. All I saw are men ashamed of what they and their kamikaze comrades have done. No one is proud about it, no one tries to claim it didn't happen. I don't think there is even a successful kamikaze in the whole movie that I can remember. The few actions scenes show Americans on carriers, and not in any poor light, destroying every zero that got close.
