Yep, took a bit to overcome the inertia. Plus there wasn't a thread to really post it in like here. Appreciate the pointers as well and I'll see about fixing them. Although I'll keep referring to him as Doomguy here and there to mix things up and of course since he's still our hero from the 90's at it again.
The SDM is definitely in for some fun times although I'm thinking a lot on how to handle a non-spellcard fight and whatnot. It's going to be tough that's for sure but I'm sure he'll be able to find some secrets and power ups along the way to help him out. It's a big place after all.

And the less thoughtout of the two, the JJK one pretty much only has character interactions I like, for instince, Cirno and Ryomen Sukuna, Tewi and Toji Fushiguro, Byakurem and Ryomen Sukuna.

Sukuna and Byakuren are both rotten Buddhists, but in pretty much every other point they diverge.
Both are charismatic, but Sukuna rarely has friends or followers while Byakuren surrounds herself followers.
Sukuna stayed proudly human and indulges in his human nature, but is monstrous. Byakuren is a human turned monster but is still a much better person than Sukuna.
Sukuna was born with a deformed human body, while Byakuren crafted herself a perfect body.
There's another set of characters, the Disaster Curses who're basically the evil version of Byakuren's crew who want to replace humans with Curses/Youkai, and Sukuna is like an idol to them.
Tewi and Toji is just something I think would be fun, they both have off personalities and are pseudo-saintly figures. With Toji also being a sort of twisted Buddhist type, spending money without a care as he doesn't value it, and living freely as dictated by his nature as a heaven sent anti-curse-sorcerer weapon, but doing so abondend his kid.
Tewi is also a free spirit who lives to her nature, but none-the-less is reliable and depended upon by the Eientei crew.
That and Tewi has probably been a mom and Toji is a dad.

Now that I read it again, it doesn't quite start like the Doomslayer fic does. The SDM absolutely does get destroyed though and the MC does have gratuitous amounts of violence in him, so these stories have that in common.

Huh, I've heard of this site a few times now. And man is that story old. Looks like a pretty interesting bit of OC so far with the first three author posts I've read, although I think it's a bit too banter heavy. There's some missing context there, the humanity of the past was an extremely spiritual society, and in myth basically anybody above a significant rank would have magic, be a half-youkai or living god, or have magic tools. So saying that Youkai "lost" to a society designed around killing them isn't a testament to weakness, especially since the heavenly gods and other such divinities called earth their home at that point in time as well.
Not saying the Combine would lose, they're a practically infinite disease which spans countless worlds and who's true might we've never seen, so yeah I'd think they win.
Also what they'd do to Gensokyo isn't all that interesting, they'd just sterilize the population, strip it of it's resources, and integrate what remains, like they're doing to earth. That's literally all they do, they are a virus.
Of course while Gensokyo would lose and the above happen to them in a 1v1 versus the Combine, that scenario is also very unrealistic, the Lunarians probably wouldn't like the combine moving in on their turf and the Combine would try to fight them anyways, Hecatia would likely respond, not to mention other interventionist parties probably coming from Hell and Makai as well, and the Celestials as well since they are Buddhists Devas, and the Buddhas themselves would probably respond.
What I'm saying is that while the Combine COULD take Gensokyo and Gensokyo's earth if they only fought them, that situation is also ridiculously unlikely.

It's not that simple. For a lot of characters, yes. For others we have crystal clear descriptions of their abilities and them demonstrating them in games and printworks. Reimu's ability to float (see the moment where fish moved under her feet as she crosses water or her effortlessly dodging and responding to Marisa's attacks without really thinking), ZUN telling us about Yukari's boundary powers (she can do anything with them, so for game balance purposes zun rationalized why she always holds back) or Hijiri Byakuren's straight forward physical enhancement and divine magic.

RNG is bad in a game like Cuphead because it cheapens victories. Instead of becoming skilled in the game, then beating a boss based on what you learned, instead it feels like you merely got lucky, which is lame, and it feels like the game is being unfair, when the RNG is against you. Not to mention cases where there are multiple bosses, where attacks might be unavoidable no matter how good you are, because little or no thought was put into bosses' timing thanks to the dice roll nature of attacks. This is why I say it's mediocre. Yes, the art is great, but that's not all a game is. I do agree the difficulty is overhyped, mostly because RNG is fake difficulty, besides that the plebs who have played a well-known title like Cuphead likely don't play much else anyway, or at least much else that could be described as "challenging".

I do want it to be brutal but not overly edgy either, especially for the sake of edge in itself or shock value. It should serve a purpose to the story where it shows that the Slayer isn’t going to mess around or pull his punches nor will his opponents when they quickly realize he’s not some pushover outsider.
And to be fair, I’m just starting out so it’s a bit low-depth for the moment. If it’s still lacking by the fifth chapter or so, then I think the shallow criticism can hold more water. Gave it a read again and I think the character isekai with giga plotarmor murdering everything isn't the right way to go if you're actually serious about this story. Sure, you might mellow it out later but that would make it inconsistent in the tone the beginning already set. Also, unless its a Touhou AU I don't see him getting away with murder without an asspull or Deus Ex Machina, something that you really should avoid as a writer. Furthermore, it is a massive challenge even for seasoned writers to kill off named characters from barely-violent franchises like Touhou, and it's impossible to do that brutally without being an edgefest or just a joke fic, like imagine Doomslayer curbstomping Mario, who would take that seriously. On the other hand nobody would bat an eye at him doing that to Nemesis from Resident Evil, because it fits both settings in content and tone.
But what you can do, is to alter the setting to fit what you're trying to write. Since that crossover of yours is already leaning heavily on the Doom side of things you can borrow a lot more from it, for example making the Touhou cast more demonic. That would certainly fit the ripping and tearing better.
As an exercise you could maybe try writing EoSD but with the girls replaced by demons, like Rumia being an Imp, Patchouli an Archvile, Remilia one of those weapon wielding demons from Eternal and Reimu of course being the slayer (although if you want to you can retain the isekai part) and see how the tone of the work changes. Then if you like it keep going with it or apply what you learned to the next attempt. Key to a good crossover is that both sides are influenced by the other in some way, cross-integration of elements being one of those.

There's already a bunch of overlap with Youkai and Cursed Spirits basically being the same thing. There's even a character who somewhat fills the role of Yukari in Tengen, and a lot of guys also hanging around in the Heian era.
