An LED TV is not the issue

The issue lies in how the stage is built around Miku, or not in this case.

A TV is not transparent, and as such, the stages should be built with this in mind and have all the lights be next to or on the sides of the screen, in order to not break the flimsy illusion of Miku being there. They have failed at doing this twice already.

That is the problem here, and it's ridiculous honestly that they can't fix this and won't even comment on it.
The screen does seem small though, but that's another issue

I'll play devil's advocate one last time. I thought the screen looked fantastic from GA. Everyone I met there also had nothing but good things to say, I had no idea there was such an outrage until I went online the next morning.
I'm definitely not defending CR's lack of transparency, nor the other issues with merch or VIP perks etc., but the show itself was still incredible. I hope others will go and have a great time and not let the negativity ruin their chance to enjoy seeing Miku.

I also mentioned earlier that yes, CR did mess up on several fronts. And yes, I'd love the immersive hologram experience one day too. But the negativity is blown way out of proportion and is going to ruin many peoples' experiences that they could otherwise enjoy.

if anything, LA and New York would be the ones that'd get the best setup since those are the big cities for weeb/nerd entertainment events. Absolutely. You even have VocaDuo, an e event sometime after VocaColle that takes a Vocaloid song a producer made and an utaite singing it. They usually plan this out together, so the song is actually made to be sung by two vocals, vocaloid and human. I don't think there's been anything like it in the west, though it's also not *as* prominent as VocaColle is in nipland.

Yeah, when I first got into Vocaloid years ago I just ignored utaites since everyone in the fandom called them all trash and I never had a second thought about it. Alright just got back from the San Jose show. I was in the middle of the pit and honestly the screen looked pretty good. I know it's technically a downside of the hologram setup but I did actually miss the glow stick reflections. The framing this time was pretty decent but they could've used the empty spots in the screen a bit more, only a few songs actually took advantage of it. My biggest issue was that the bass was overpowering the fuck out of the vocals, but in the same vein it might've been the concert earplugs I was using. But still, shit was extreme, like lightning flowing through you. It kinda killed a lot of the songs for me, but Gimme X Gimme actually benefited from it really well, probably because the song was mastered with it in mind. Overall I think I enjoyed 2018 more but 2024 was great.
