Several, nothing wrong with preferring covers IMO. It's hard to be talented at everything, lots of producers out there that make great songs have some below-average tuning. Then there's people who are great at tuning but can't compose a single song. It's just the way it is. Most of the time though if I like a song well enough I'll have both the original as well as covers in my playlist. I'll even take some exceptional utaite covers once in a while.

Probably the only western cover artist I like though there are a few others I'm not sure on. I especially like a lot of the Una covers she does. Most westoids try to do a lot of English covers which are universally bad. With a very small number of exceptions you cannot translate a song from Japanese and make it not sound terrible. All good English vocaloid is originally composed in English, and there isn't much of it.

I would also say the same of Chinese vocaloid but there is no good Chinese vocaloid.

I like the submission of OTIKA for the Vocacolle 2024 Winter season, which just started by the way. A little different from his previous works, I think the drop will be surprise because of that.

personally just can't into anything touch screen. maybe it's different if you were raised around those style of devices but i always thought they were really crappy and lived through the era where they actually were all really crappy. for a rhythm game the input method is a major contributor of how fun that game is.

i can believe proseka is the better quality title because the mobile market is typically only flooded with low effort clones, and the input method is still the same, so they only really need to try better in charting and license better music to be the best.

i got to play a project diva cabinet once and it was much better than playing on a shitty dualshock

i also used to be a huge DDR fag as well when that was huge and arcades still existed. stepmania really took it up a notch because unlike the pad-based gameplay where if you could handle 6-8 foots you were considered pretty good, but stepmania charts were all 15-16 footers with insane BPMs and stuff that was really physically impossible for pads. changing the input method meant it was quite clearly a different game. i also at first used to play with arrows, switching to QWER until eventually landing on QWOP

I've cleared almost every (Ex)Extreme across the entire series, but at this point it feels like I physically can't do any better. Mirai is great, I picked up a 3ds last year and that's mostly what I've been playing, haven't heard of the fanmade mix, I'll check it out. I do wish it had harder difficulties and it's exclusive songs ported to future tone/megamix, but's it's so comfy and comes with puyo puyo I'm not complaining.

I definitely experienced that plateau, after 80hrs/3 months with megamix, I had 6 exextreme perfects and 10 extreme perfects. Almost 4 years/60hrs later I haven't gotten any more. Those higher star songs are just a bit too much, I guess I'd need to grind practice mode and treat it like a sport crossed with learning a dance choreography or something. It helps that megamix launched a month before the world shut down in march 2020 so I had nothing better to do than play, but now I'll play a song or two every couple weeks and I only get worse at it.

Project Diva is dead. It has been dead for years, long before proseka was even a thing. It is dead because Vocaloid was dead, it was on a steady decline and there was little of reason to make new games. However "was" is the keyword here. Currerntly Miku and co are making a come back and proseka is actually, arguably one of the reasons why it it catching the wind again. Given all the new interest in the topic, it might turn out that making a new game might actually become profitable at some point, something that definitely wouldn't be the case if Miku continued to be on decline.

Just year ago we had literally the same kind of arguments ITT about how VR concerts are the end of Miku Expo because they have no monetary incentive to make real life concerts anymore. What would be your dream features of a new Project Diva game if it ever came out? Because even if a new game was announced right now, just adding some new songs wouldn't really be enough
here are some of mine:

>revamp the super old videos from DT and PDA with updated dances/camera movement/mouth movement to be more in line with the newer videos (but don't change them too much because they still have their own charm)
>a new game mode that incorporates all the different chart mechanics (technical zone, hold notes, scratch notes, double note arrows, slides, multi-note holds, etc) (this sounds fun in my head but would be fucking terrible in actuality)

Future Tone multi notes without the option/need for macros, add arrows/sliders to multis.
Traditional hold notes with timed start and release, but allow for multi holds or other notes to occur during holds like FT. Hold notes might have to be displayed like they are in Project Mirai to make that look natural.

I enjoyed the holds in FT but I don't like that it gave way to score attack routes. I think high scores should be based off accuracy alone.

Big song list, module mixing and a proper Diva Room would all be obviously be great as well.
