I'll have to ask about the rates, but definitely worse than Souya route. Much cheaper overall with the resource usage, but calls for a healthy supply of late-model sub torps, investment in RE for the submarine radars & don't expect S-ranks since you can't touch enemy subs.

It's more of something that you run once or twice each day when the repair docks are empty & you're about to turn in for the night. I personally just let 'em have it in an afternoon with Yamasushi just to keep my res from maxing out.

I have 24 DEs and all the best ASW gear. ASW is honestly a bad mechanic because you either have all the equipment and it is completely trivialized or you don't have the equipment and life is hell. I think there's still some good ASW equips rewarded from quests but you'll have to get event drops + clear rewards for the good stuff.

I think the problem with subs is that they are pure rng cancer. so is the rest of the game but subs remove all of the extra layers of rng that make you think you're playing something other than yahtzee. if your opening torps don't hit right you go home. if the enemy has strong asw you go home. if your closing torps don't hit right you go home. if you don't cut in even though there are only like 3 high luck subs you go home with no reward. I don't understand why they made the sub special attack so shitty when sub fleets are already nearly useless.

The point is that subs in game are modelled like surface ships that take different damage from equips, essentially.
Now alright, WWII subs were essentially surface ships that could also submerge, so that's fair, but it makes for a mediocre experience in game: you either have "normal" subs with 10-50HP, essentially 1-hit-kills, or those dumb abyss subs with triple digits HP that make no sense whatsoever.
We need a real rework of sub mechanics with detection, noise, etc., essentially like Cold War submarine operations worked, even though our subs are older.

Most of the US subs could run at deck awash during the daytime worst case and still spot planes/ships.
I think realistically the bigger issue is that subs can't really fit a support role. Maybe things like making a comp easier, evasion debuff from fuel loss, things like that. I probably would've had subs work similar to LBAS, AS extending range/allowing them to target more nodes, but they always suffer a chance of retreating or not showing due to being intercepted.

Togo Shrine at Harajuku, dedicated to the admiral himself. There is a giant Z flag, a monument to WW2 submariners, and another monument to 1DesDiv, which Kamikaze was a part of. That monument is at the east entrance.

Verniy Park at Yokosuka also has a number of monuments, the one to the Takao class is pretty obvious.

26th April would be the 11th anniversary, I'm pretty sure Melon Books would have a special corner for Kancolle around that period. Look out for flyers advertising doujin events, that was how I ended up attending Saikai no Akatsuki 60 at Kure on the 10th anniversary.

Hatsushimo's anchor is on display at some private hospital, you might be able to google its location. It was featured in the second anime's ending scene.

I'm still a bit sore about my 10th anniversary trip to Kure last year. Knowing that the 8th and 9th anniversaries had physical celebrations, I booked my flights and hotel months before, only to find out no celebration was planned that year. Luckily I spotted the flyer for the doujin event so at least I managed to do something Kancolle related.

If you're in Kure, remember to visit the lathe. It's in the museum carpark and not in the museum itself. I almost left Kure without visiting it...

Not explicitly Kancolle related, but the Mikasa in Yokosuka.
The museum at Yasukuni shrine has a decent amount of navy stuff on display, including original planes.
If you have the time to spare / are a fan of scenic views / a fan of Girls & Panzer, you could make a day trip from Tokyo to Oarai, their shrine has a monument for Naka (see pic). I guess it's too long of a trip for the monument alone though.
Likewise, the Kyoto Ryozen Gokoku-jinja, a shrine in Kyoto, has a monument for Naganami. And in Nara there is the Oyamato Jinja, which was the protector shrine for Yamato and seems to have a small exhibition about the ship (it wasn't named after her, however). This one is a bit on the countryside though, and i don't know how well it can be reached without a car. Doesn't look like a typical tourist spot, and i don't know if they particularly like anime fans there. The shrine in Oarai was, as far as i have read, initially sceptical about the Kancolle and GuP fans, but obviously they behave respectfully when visiting there and the shrine staff got used to them.
