I'm just getting into the og Tsuki vn, and honestly I can't see how someone could think its better than Stay Night. I just finished the Arc route and it was mediocre at best. Its was also kinda weird how much of it felt like a prototype for Saber's route. All the pieces are there (the backstory, the "you should enjoy life and stop your mission" speech, the date scene, etc) its just that they weren't put together nearly as well as they were for Saber. I dunno, I hope it gets better (though from what I hear about Ciel's route I may have to slog through more to get to something different) but so far I'm not impressed.

Not really. The first few days aren't amazing, but the story really kicks it into high gear once the bloodfort happens. From there its one great scene after another.

Its the best romance in Stay Night. Shirou and Saber make for great parallels, and they have some of the best romantic scenes in the vn. The argument on the bridge, Shirou standing up to Gil after most of his body was destroyed, "you were my sheath", their last farewell, etc.

Fate Shirou is great. His dilemma between wanting to be a pacifist and wanting to be a hero is great character material in the early route, and of course everyone goes ga ga for the church basement.

But all that is not really my point, my point was that Arc's route was filled with things that were reused and done better in Stay Night. Arc's lonely backstory is very close to the one Saber has, but in Tsuki its just infodumped right before the ending, in SN its built up in dream sequences throughout the route. The "you should enjoy life" speech in Tsuki is basically Shiki lecturing Arc and her going "oh yeah he he I guess ur right" while in Stay Night it leads to an argument that shows the worst and best of Shirou and Saber. I could go on, like the farewell scene, or the date scene, or even the basic build up of their relationship, but the point is Arc's route does a lot of the same thing Saber's route does, only worse.

I think the DHO is more encompassing than just the them. The DHO probably were like the Church but for Japan in that their job was to kill non-humans and protect man's seat as the paragons. Demon Hunters fought Oni for a long time so maybe members of the clan were related to and involved with the DHO but it was the Big 4 Psychic clans that were the face since Demon Hunters were powerless before mixed bloods. So I don't think there is any blood relation at least. While some members are pretty set on killing oni, it still seems secondary historically compared to being their very purpose for being like the Nanaya for example.
