That's probably true for private sector dentists but is there even public sector dentists in US. Had my fractured wisdom tooth removed some time ago and public sector is so crowded that it always takes like 2-4 months to get there unless it is emergency like in my case, fractured tooth might get infected easily so it was 3 weeks wait as a "slightly urgent case", i doubt that they make appointments just for shit and giggles or for money since they are goverment funded.

My father had terrible teeth all his life, and finally had them all removed in his 50s. Now he's a ghastly sight, the entire size of his head has shrunken. I've inherited his terrible dental genes, and have several cavities plus two teeth that require root canals. Honestly, it's not so incredibly urgent a problem as you make out, but essentially, living with teeth like this means they can get infected at any time and develop into an abscess which is extremely painful and may require surgery to remove.

You have to be extremely negligent to lose all your teeth, as I understand it. My father knew he had bad teeth for decades and did nothing about it besides getting one crown. It's easy to sit on this because bad teeth can stay there for years & years, giving you no problems, before it randomly becomes a nightmare one day. If you have bad teeth, just make sure you get it handled before 2025 and you're all good. Don't fuck with teeth you know are bad, chew lightly, use common sense, etc.

What's a foid?

Recently I had a revelation that totally changed how I see things. Like a ton of people, I was in the habit of posting my negative thoughts online to vent. But one day after venting, I had a thought strike me out of the blue: So what? My stomach hurts, so what? I have insomnia, so what? Now every time since then, whenever I've vented a small voice in my brain calls out "what are you gonna do about it?" and so I felt like an idiot every time I vented. Now instead of venting, I stop myself and ask "What is the nature of this problem? Is there anything I can do about it?"

With this mindset I've made strides on fixing my insomnia, I quit reading western internet entirely save for a couple good spaces like /jp/, and I'm finally moving forward in life again. It would be unrealistic to expect this post to "fix" anyone but I hope it reaches someone out there and steers you in the right direction.

Ive been a NEET for most of my 20s too and took on some small part time jobs that I would quit maybe a month or so in. Im 30 turning 31 this month. Something ive noticed throughout this time has been it is very easy to take all the free time you have for granted and treat it frivolously. I know I'm not ontologically a NEET but I am one culturally. My job is work from home where I call people in early recovery from alcohol and drugs and basically pester them to get doctor appointments and occasionally help them apply for social services. But most screen my calls so I spend most my day sitting at my desk, writing notes about how someone doesn't pick up and then spend the rest of the time googling stuff for people or reading forums. The fact I work from home makes me feel like a NEET, the person I live with leaves for work at 5 am so my whole day sorta turns into a hybrid of rest/work when I spend probably 6 of a 12 hour period messing around, jumping between anime, videogames and the work computer, starting at 5am and going to 5 pm. I get a lot of the negatives of being a NEET but bc twice a week I'll meet a person in the community I don't get hit with the stigma of being a NEETO.

i gave up on normal life when i dropped out at 18. always lived a 'life' of hedonism and withdrawal, almost a decade of being a NEET. life gave me a chance after 20 but i wasted it. Made money with crypto, instead of saving myself and changing everything, eventually i wasted all my money on psychiatric doctors, therapy, private mental ward, until last year i got sick and wasted everything i had on normal doctors, now im so sick im dying and in constant agony and cant live any longer. overall, i cant remember my previous life as a NEET, how i felt, its like im a different person now, a shell of who i was. i have nothing left, except negative things. for me, its over.
if u want advice, then do anything u can to fix ur physical health, because ive felt terrible my entire life, but once i got physically sick, i realized what true hell is, and it is not comparable to anything i experienced or could imagine.

well, i've been venting into the void for a long time. nowadays i mostly delete my posts from everywhere, since i dont relate to anyone anymore. People ignore my posts because there is no good advice to give, or even any point in giving pity. What i wrote is a drop in a bucket, im the lowest of the low vermin existing still, a total failure at the bottom lower than a homeless dog. My 'family' is all dysfunctional and poor, never had a room of my own, living like in 3rd world despite being from europe.
sorry, but things cant turn around for me. i got into infinite debt, infinite illness, incurable mental problems, addiction...all while being a person that cant heat up soup cause thats my real life skill level. My only future is inevitable death, hospital, ward, homelessness, disability...all the things i always feared the most. Every person in my situation has simply ended it, so there is nobody or nothing to talk to. Its honestly hopeless, i dont think i fear hell as much anymore after experiencing what i did. A year of not being able to normally breathe, move arms and legs, constant various pains, eating and drinking problems, i cant even think straight anymore. Every night feeling like i'm gonna die, i'm traumatized like i came back from the war. I need to end it but im limited in methods, stupid and scared.

here's my second opinion, anon is right, i spent 4 years applying for SSI over and over, worked with an organization meant to handhold people through the process and tell them how to succeed since my social worker was hard to understand, have more diagnoses than you (including physical), and i still got a plain "you are not disabled enough, get a job" rejection letter after all those doctors visits, social worker visits, general paperwork and back and forth for years. also once you're fully rejected, you cant repeal it for a year at the least. i wouldn't even bother if you have other income sources supporting your NEETdom. just gonna cause you unneeded stress and suicidal urges.

Not really, the process is extremely lengthy and contradictory. Each subsequent case or judge rejection will markedly damage your chances of ultimately getting bux. You will quickly realize why they're so many homeless people in this country.

Best I can do for you is suggest you try going through Vocational Rehabilitaion. Your mileage can greatly vary, I had to use them twice over the span of years for them to actually help me. The second time, I got hooked up with a great team who actually cared and wanted to help my pitiful ass.

If they can't help you or they deem you absolutely positively unemployable, that can actually look great when you try for SSI/SSDI. They will see that you actually tried and used their resources to look for work and their agents were not successful. That would look really good for your case. Multiple lawyers I have spoken to have confirmed this.
I know how desperate you might feel, but this is not it, my friend.

Yes, you can do all of this without having to go to their physical offices. You do have to go to whatever medical staff they send you to if you don't have anyone. I think they do the the court hearings virtually now, so one less thing to worry about.

Consultative exams? Yeah, I had one. It was completely detrimental for me. Saw this shithead psychiatrist at his measly practice, spent no more than 15 mins in a "comprehensive psychiatric exam" that a lawyer told me should have been at least 45 mins. A lot of the professionals that do these wouldn't be doing them if they had a solid client base, keep that in mind.

I didn't have medical insurance or money for a decent medical papertrail and my previous psychiatric records were considered too old to be relevant to the case. Older than 5 years is generally considered irrelevant. I was forced to go to their appointed psychiatrist. I read stories how these doctors will misrepresent benefit-seekers and learned you can request to see whatever they sent to your case administrators. They never tell you that, YOU CAN do a lot of things. That's why you will see most people in the know suggesting you pair up with a lawyer from the very beginning.

Learned that and that's how the bullshit came to my attention. Heads up, this was MY experience. It is an account regarding getting bux where everything that could've gone wrong, went wrong. I've met a few recipients who had much easier times or what most would say, "Extremely lucky." It's not fair at all.

There are legit crippled veterans that get denied from their own benefits programs. People who have lost a limb, have mental disorders like PTSD, and things like tinnitus so bad, the damn auditory illusory sounds of trains braking, morse cord beeps, tazer sounds, or all the above combined so loud it will wake them up in their sleep. Nightmarish stuff, this might be lifefuel for some people though

I could probably retire on 4-5 apartments on rent, since I have my medical insurance permanently secured, and I earn enough per year to buy one.
Still, it's a scary purchase. Buying something with the price tag equivalent to a whole year of work is pretty frightening.
