Actually, I beat you with what few characters I can sorta play as. Any tips for someone completely new to Hisoutensoku, and fightan games in general? Marisa, Iku, and maybe Youmu have been my favorites in practice mode, and the only other game I've played to the point where I was marginally respectable was Blazblue. But I used Jin and Noel.

The weather does not affect this game nearly so much as the random card drawing system does; not getting all those Alice system cards until the last minute of the final round, never getting Tenshi's system cards when there's weather you WANT to change, etc, all have a much higher impact on the game than the weather system. In fact, the weather system would be GREAT if you could really control when Tenshi's weather cards come out, as those who ignore that aspect of the system could be punished for it by those who stack their decks with those cards. As it is, though, it's just a total crapshoot whether you get to even use the cards you put in your deck

Even though it's from SWR, Hisoutensoku has the same menus so it works for that too. There's honestly no need to know any Japanese unless you want to know the story, but playing story mode for Touhou fighters is stupid.

Was that really an execution problem? Reimu's DP (at level 0) doesn't have invincibility frames nor lower body invulnerability. I pretty much quit doing defensive DPs (after one instance of taking over 50% damage while trying to DP 4 consecutive times with Marisa but getting hit out of it) because they're nearly useless without level ups.

Also, I see you're testing a new Youmu oki strat. How's that working out for you?

Haha, you're giving me more credit than it's due. A lot of the odd things you're seeing in my gameplay is due to rust, since I've been busy lately and havn't been able to play for weeks. I never thought about using crystals to catch airtechs, so I'll definately try it out for next time. With the Youmu Oki, I'm just forgetting to use 2C/5C into reflect/purple rings and having to make up for it in a different way. I did however try some strategies that I'm not sure if you've seen before, like 6B into cherry blossom cut crossup and melee chipping at your spirit to mixed success.

Aw, only had to disappear for a minute. Just got back and you were gone. Sorry about that. Well, GGs, Hing. You've got to work on your corner pressure. It's Youmu's strongest point and, while yours isn't terrible, it could use some work. You have a very bad habit of over-using 5AA 2B, which is a nice corner string, but it's not air-tight. You need to mix in more 214, 5AA delayed 3/6A, and 5AA 3/6[A] to keep your opponent on his toes. Also, more 2C oki. If you land 5AAAA on a cornered opponent you can usually combo a 623B afterwards for more damage and limit knockdown. You kept 2Bing or 236Bing afterwards, so I think you're aware, you just need to work on your execution. Thanks for the games.

the daddy long legs skill card is pretty good, and for spellcards anything you can use underground might make your opponent think twice about starting meaties while you're dashing.

It was pure luck I could chain together stuff with Reisen at all, and it became impossible to pressure once your Iku learned to dash out of my one and only string. Once I had a chance to watch your Reisen, I realized that I forgot about the existance of the body double attack at all.

Good stuff! Haven't picked up Youmu in a long time, so that was pretty crazy. Same goes for Meiling and Reisen, so it's nice to know I can still improvise with them as much as I do Sakuya and Reimu. Also, quite pleasing to see that adding those crystals to that Patchi combo worked exactly how I figured they would. Now you can come up with an air combo to force the crush! Thanks for the matches!

LOL, she's a character in UNL, so I can play with her just like everyone else on the roster not named Remilia. Also, you can thank Guy and his ass whuppings he's given me for the makeshift airtech combos. Other than that, Meiling's just a tinker toy for me (note the alt236) I must learn to stop 3A so much, with her and Youmu both. Haven't had enough time to test it out, but I'm suspicious of the body double. I think if leveled, she gains i-frames on startup...

Speaking of your Youmu, you might want to talke a few dragon punch cards with her. I don't think it has any kind of startup invulnerability until level 2 if you like to use it as a reversal. Her 2A isn't so bad imo, I probably overuse it actually.

Some quick advice : when you got your opponent knocked-down, try to maintain the pressure, or stay around for him not be able to move freely after that, you have to try to keep the advantage. And if you feel like your press is ending, don't backdash to the other end of the stage, stay around, you have an advantage by being in the middle of the screen and him being in the corner.
Also, the best option to get out of /Aya's far 5A corner loop of death/ is simply to jump.
