Just a reminder that there was plan to release Fate in way how Nasu is releasing Tsukihime remake now. With first part being named Fate/Stay Night and contain only Saber Route and Rin/Archer Route. And later would come second part named Fate/Other Night and contain Sakura Route and Illya Route.

Fate and UBW are two sides of one coin. HF was supposed to be a different VN.

Exactly what it sounds like. Route ideas that didn’t make the cut.
In the beginning, the plan was for Fate/stay night to have four different routes, one for each heroine.
It would start off by letting the player arbitrarily choose between playing as either Shirou or Rin. Then around the middle of the story they would finally meet, and after that you would branch off into one of the four routes for the last half of the game. Yeah, I don’t really understand how it was going to work either.
Anyway, getting back to the rejected routes, it goes without saying that the Illya route tops the list.
Besides that, there was also the “Rider route where you fight against Rin and Saber,” and the “Caster route where Caster gets turned into a loli and becomes your partner.”
While all traces of the Caster route were completely erased, the development where you teamed up with Rider was actually folded into part of the final story.
If the Illya route had made it into the game, the diversion point probably would have been on the ninth day of the Sakura route. Instead of choosing between being a superhero and choosing Sakura, there would be a third choice where you could choose Illya.
But unfortunately, as it stands that choice doesn’t exist.

funnily enough though I'm pretty sure every fantranslation has been based on the original PC script, even if said build hacked realta nua assets in. So some of the changes you will find in it aren't actually from Aniplex translators being underpaid fuckups, but 2007 Nasu deciding to change lines for no reason. They're not even really retcons either, most of them are entirely irrelevant. He set the line where Shirou bitches about alarm clocks to not display for example.

Not him but KnK has like 3 different versions. There's the original web novel version, the 2004 release and then the 2007 one. The version everyone has actually read is the 2007 one and Nasu said that he wished he could get rid of the older versions. I've never actually looked at the text of the older versions in detail myself, but people say it's mainly just prose changes and not anything related to the actual plot/characters.

Assume you have average magic circuits, and the most basic Magic Association contact.
(They know you exist, don't mind you practicing, and your home isn't any magus' territory because it's not a significant leyline to begin with. But you need to give them something if you're going to get something in return.)

Obvious one is strengthening on your body, eyes included.
I'd love healing, it doesn't have to be fast, I'm more concerned with quality of healing.
Fix a torn ACL, damaged joint, or messed-up spine, that'd be cool.
If it buys time for my immune system time to work, it would make me much less paranoid.

It doesn’t dilute the magical circuits, as far as I’m aware, but the issue is with passing the family heritage down.
The main objective of the whole “magic crest” thing is to reach the root; because most people find it impossible to do it in one generation, they lay continuing it at the feet of their children, and the most effective way to do that is the magic crest, which contains all the authority and secrets of the family.

Because you can only pass it to one person, it’s most convenient to pass it down to the first child with talent. Otherwise, if you have more than one talented child, and they both know magecraft, they will most likely end up killing each other over the crest (you know how mages are). Hell, look at Aoko and Touko, one of them didn’t even want to be a mage and they still ended up like that.

After that, there are two other concerns:
1- You can be a mage without a crest. Shirou and Touko are great examples of this. However, unless they become mercenaries who aren’t up to reaching the root and deep research, like Shirou, they won’t obtain much success. Touko, for one, is the exception of exceptions, because her talent is in a whole other level. Sakura, if she went into the magical world, would have been seen more as a human incubator, for all the talent in her blood, rather than as a mage of prestige; at which point, if she couldn’t succeed the family research, and would be seen as a political object to further another family’s success, was it even worth it to train her? Giving her to another family, where she would inherit all their secrets, money, authority, etc. would allow her to truly live up to her talent as a mage, the only issue was that the family were the Matou.

2- The more people that know about magecraft, the weaker it gets. Say you have as many peeps as you can, and none of them kill each other, and then they also have as many peeps as they can, and then their children’s children do it as well. Now apply this to all mage families. Can you see where I’m getting at? Furthermore, the greater the amount of people who know, the greater the chance someone slips up big time and blurts out the secret.

Do clock tower mages capture men just to milk them for their mana juice? I don’t think willing donations would be very sustainable.

Haven’t read CCC yet, so I don’t have the full context for that quote. However, it could be possible he is saying worship nowadays has strayed so far from its AoG roots that the “God” of people’s beliefs is a different thing altogether, and that thing is the system that the Holy Church uses for their sacraments. I don't think the similarities with Caubac's entry are a coincidence.
Given that Caubac’s chosen way of proving god was real was creating a model of the universe, I assume God’s love/eternity in this sense means the belief that God is everywhere, is omnipotent, and is omniscient, therefore god’s everywhere and in everything, therefore God *is* existence itself. I suppose that’s what Roa/Caubac could be looking for, God is the universe, hence why Caubac made a working mode of the universe and why Roa considers the universe inside Arc to be a fragment of his pursuit on the definition of God’s love.

Also, maybe unrelated, but:
IIRC Archetype: Earth was stated to willingly and freely use authorities as she saw fit in Melty, meanwhile Luminary was able to use them, however only in a reactionary fashion. I suppose A:E and Arc could be called God, given she should have access to every single authority when at full power.

These could all be true. The only reason he concluded that these can't be true is because of his initial belief that God can't be in humans, and humans can't create God. There is just no changing his mind on this though:

Maybe? Could also be related to Nasu’s own understanding and portrayal of God in Catholicism. That it’s an existence that does not have a state of being such as “dead” or “alive”, but rather it’s a being that simply is, and as it’s perfect, and therefore unchanging, it is divorced from the concepts of life and death, which are ever so transient. Hence why he refers to God as being something that’s not related to “life”. If this is a “portrayal” or how Nasu sees the belief, then that would be shared by catholic characters, at which point Caubac believes that God, if it exists, mustn’t be alive, but it’s not that God itself exists and follows those characteristics, merely that this is the belief people hold in God.
