Actress Erika Ikuta (27) will release her first EP "capriccioso" from Sony Music Labels on April 10. The EP includes the lead song "Laundry," which was born from a humming that came to her while looking at the washing machine, and a cover of "Garden" by Kaze Fujii, an artist she says has influenced her. Many of the lyrics and compositions she taught herself after the Corona disaster, and she delivers a work packed with individuality and charm.

Ikuta, who celebrates her 27th birthday on the 22nd, is now fully launched as a solo artist. In addition to playing the piano, which she has been working on since her childhood, she has appeared in musicals and sang a song in the Japanese version of the main character in Disney's 100th anniversary production of "Wish" last December. She has been performing solo since 2010, after graduating from Nogizaka46, and completed a nationwide tour last fall. The title of the album is a musical term that means "to be carefree," and it expresses the her desire to "value the feeling of not doing or adhering to a rigid set of rules, but rather to go off the beaten path and play with sound. Details of the songs to be included in the album, such as "Laundry," a jazz-inspired song with a beautiful piano sound, and "No one compares," which was written for the first time during the stay-home period, will be announced at a later date.

She is still signed under Ohta Production as a talent, but her solo debut will be under Sony.
