Hello ruffians!
Thanks to your encouragement I started with my Nihongo learning journey!
Day 161: Today I've done my anki and immersion reps. For anki I've learned 10 new cards. For immersion I've watched three episode of an anime. A little bit of a longer update this time, haven't done this in a while:
Yesterday I had less then 100 due to cards. That's the first time it happened basically since the first time I got more than 100 due to cards. What I mean is that it had never dropped below 100 again. It happened now cause I did a little bit more of Anki (and maybe cause of immersion reps, but I don't think it's the case, I'll explain why I think that later) than I actually shared with you guys. The thing is, the screenshots I'm sharing are made immediately after I finish my first, main Anki session. After that I have 2 more, shorter sessions with custom decks that I make every day: the first is with leeches and the second one is with the cards I forgot in the last 1 day.
I started doing them around 40 days ago, as it can be seen here https://files.catbox.moe/rq7ktb.png . I did it cause I came to the point where I couldn't even sustain 5 new cards a day (first lowered it from 20 to 15, then to 10, then to 5). On the graph it doesn't look so bad, but it doesn't show how many times I set number of new cards for the day to 0. Well, the circled days were the breaking point, I was doing just 5 new cards and at that one day I needed 1.2 hours to finish it (idk how many due to cards, prob more than 170).
Since then I never increased the new cards for the day above 5 (oke, did it once to 6 a few days back just so I can be exactly at half point; I forgot to say it in the blogpost), but never decreased it either. Time and number of reviews has gradually gotten down, my retention for mature and young cards got way better and I personally started feeling better about Anki grind.
We'll see how it goes with this increase to 10 new cards every day. I promised to myself that I won't lower it in any case for at least 10 days, after that we'll see what happens.
A few words about my Japanese understanding at the moment: regardless of everything still really bad. I played the part of Pekora bday call in stream when Mococo and Fuwawa called and I understood very little. Only after watching translated clip I got what they were talking about. So I'm far away form the goal line. I feel like it's not all bad, Japanese words and phrases pop up in my head randomly during the day. I was talking in English in VC with my team mate from some game a few days ago and at some point I almost said 実は。It popped in my head before frankly, to tell you the truth, by the way or any other English version. When it happens it usually does when I think in English, not so much when I do in my native language. Maybe cause I'm learning Japanese using English, or it's simply cause when I think in my native language Japanese words or phrases don't have time to pop up before the ones from my native language.
When it comes to immersion, I've just finished the anime I was watching, so I'll prepare Kanon for watchalong. I won't be watching it live, even if I would want to I couldn't with the watching-every-episode-two-time method I'm using. Fuwawa mentioned in the last FWMC morning that it's the anime that is well know for pretty much making anyone cry and now I'm frightened. The Planetarium (I've finished it from the point they had to stop) left me scarred, I pray this won't be as bad. Have fun and BAU BAU a lot if you're gonna watch it live!
FUWAMOCO love!
BAU BAU!

i don't think you quite understand
ending your sentences in たい or たいです is rather inappropriate for adult conversation
you say たいと思う|思います、たいと思っております、たいと存じます

just ending your sentence with ~が|を 動詞・たい(です) sounds very immature
'i wanna go do disney world!' vs. 'i would like to | i was thinking i might do, it might be nice to do'
that sort of tonal difference is what you have here

that was poor wording on my part connecting the two sentences with the 'and' there. i didn't mean to say that a variation in pitch makes ぼく rude. the usage of the word in general is considered inappropriate when talking your superiors in the workplace. the pitch accent thing is something different entirely. little boys often say ぼく with あたまだか. you should never do it. but that doesn't change the formality or informality of the word per se.

hello my djt friends, I'm new to this thread
day of using anki to learning japanese
using core2.3k and a personal mining deck I'm making when immersing.
this is my second time learning a new language so I can enjoy a lot of the beginning of it, when every word you discover just appears to you everytime you read more and more
hope you anons have an amazing day

>> No.45830358

Fliping to a random page in my learner's dictionary, we get:
さんだい「参内」(名・動ーする)天皇(てんのう)がすんでいるところへ行くこと。「例」宮中へ参内する。

Supposing that we don't know 天皇, we look it up and get:
てんのう「天皇」(名)憲法 (けんぼう)によって、日本の象(しょう)ちょっとされている人。

What's a 憲法? Well:
けんぼう「憲法」(名)国の法律(ほうりつ)の大もとになる最高(さいこう)のきまり。

And 法律?
ほうりつ「法律」(名)国会できめた、国民(こくみん)が守(まも)らなければならない国のきまり。

And then we get distracted by 守らなければならない, and the chain ends there.

Funnily enough I read that page earlier today which is what led me to ask that question.
>and is appropriate for the level you're at
is what got me, but reading TNS remake seems fine so far. I have some other stuff on my computer I'd also like to read that's "easier" according to common sense as well as jpdb, but I'm getting through much more of this right now so I think I'll stick with it.
My logic was OreTsuba/K3 (would like to get to these games in a year or two) are 9/10-10/10 on jpdb, so 7/10 must be pretty hard, but I think I was overestimating it a bit too much.

Subahibi I'll do after TNS and I already read most of it in English years ago, so it hopefully shouldn't be too bad. I think my general outline is TNS remake -> heaven's door bonus chapter thing -> reread of IMOI (my fav part) and anything else I feel like. It sounds like I'm a massive fan of scaji which I don't think I would say I am but the pacing and flow of his stuff feels perfect for long reading sessions when I'm getting through hardly any text

Yeah it's appropriate for your level. If it weren't you would not be able to enjoy it and would be trying to drop it not keep reading it

Nah not at all. The only time I skip lines is if it looks like some chinese bullshit but I haven't found any of that so far. Even the weird dream sequence seemed fine because of the context of the cg

Japan is an ancient country with ancient traditions. /djt/ follows in their footsteps by linking previous threads to unite the old with new. By the OP failing to uphold this tradition they are bringing great shame upon the /djt/ community and making current posters eternal dekinais in the eyes of those who have graduated and can now speak Japanese.
