Humans might tolerate fairies, some of them might even do business with them and use the services that they provide, but when it comes to choosing a long term partner that they can trust, the tengu cannot be competed with.

I also do not understand why you keep insisting that Star is somehow defrauding large sums from the society. Fairies have no need or desire for money; they find everything they need in nature, make it themselves, or sneak it away from villagers who aren't paying attention (and in reality they just turn a blind eye to them because everyone wants to see the fairies be happy). Even when they occasionally set up stalls at the shrine, they only do it because the act itself is a fun game to them, rather than doing it out of a desire for profit. Any money they make is promptly spent on candy, toys, or immediately thrown away. Fairy society is not capitalistic at all.

It really sounds like the tengu are just projecting their own sins onto the innocent and simple-minded fairies. You took an instance of Star setting up a kiddie pool she found at Muenzuka so that she and her friends could splash around into one where she stole large sums to build a pool.
The only thing the fairies want from the Friends of Fairies society is a safe place to frolic and human semen delivered to their eagerly awaiting wombs.
