I recently can't be bothered to keep up with the official content. Mostly neutral to fan works. Dislike meetups. Interested in making OC. Some interest in lore analysis, particularly older lore. Interested in porn. Some interest/hate discussing 2hu online, because some people are genuinely insufferable, especially on /jp/.
Not interested in UDALG, didn't play. I don't exactly like phantasmagoria styled games anyway. And I've heard it's not even that good, no replays, for example.

Not great, ZUN doesn't seem to really care about it anymore. And the community is only getting worse every year. Or at least the bad parts of it are getting more vocal.
I still have some hope that things will get better, but... It's kinda depressing in perspective. This was genuinely the worst year so far in my opinion.

It appeals to a lot of people. Personally I went through the official media and sfw fanworks for years before I started dipping my toes into nsfw fanworks. After years of that I decided to start giving back to the community and writing my own, and that gave me a lot of perspective. Lots of people only know Touhou by fanworks, a good chunk of those just consume the Touhou porn. But there's also lots of people in who consume all Touhou media, and some who just consume segments of it (plus the porn). I think this is how fanon gets so well ingrained into the consciousness of fans more than anything else.

Reminds me of an interview I read a few years ago from a merch store in nipland. The owner said his main customers for Touhou items were elementary/middle schoolers (majority girls), and that some were even introduced to it by their parents.
Anyone else have info on this or the new gen in general? Even as an anecdote, it's crazy to think there are families bonding over 2hu.
