Do you ever stop to think about how and why people get into vocaloid production and DTM in the first place? It has such a low barrier to entry, so anyone can download a few pieces of software and begin to produce complex music. Twenty years ago you could only make instrumentals, pay a vocalist, or be a genius with samples. Now you can have people in high school, writing their own songs and putting an actual voice behind them. Motivations for switching from being a vocaloid producer to a traditional producer or singer-songwriter may be varied, but it's very common. Ayase, Hachi, Tatsuya Kitani, nbuna, Iori Kanzaki, just to name only a small selection of producers who started in vocaloid but moved on (even so some may still release the occasional vocaloid song). There are dozens. You think they all felt this way any time someone covered their songs?

Did you ever consider that even some artists may consider working with the vocaloid medium to be a limitation rather than an advantage? You can chuck it up to Japanese politeness, but any time I see an amateur P getting picked up for covers on Twitter, they are always filled with gratitude. Some may even be writing and tuning the song as they would want a vocalist to sing it, but they don't have the means to access it.

Huge find right at the end of the year, first song from a new producer, very promising. Instrumentals are lively, fast paced, guitar and drums then a few piano breakbeats (like the intro of kanata from Tateisu Kanna) take the center with Teto singing, then all the instruments enter again, changes in tempo are very pleasant and don't interrupt the flow at all. Somewhat nostalgic, like some of the stuff I first listened to ever and Teto is as lovely as ever. Get on board now so you can say you were there at the beginning when they will be getting a million views after this blows up on SNS.

in marketing psychologically the color violet is used for a number of themes (i googled it): mystery, honour, creativity, luxury, leadership, and even sentimentality. most of these things can theoretically apply to music. maybe if miku was purple but also designed to be an amazing musician on top of being an undercover spy who works for the japanese govt or a secret entity.

yowane haku uses purple in her theme but she not very popular, but that is because she is also not a real voicebank, and was intentionally created as a joke who sounds terrible. gackpoid is also purple but his popularity is backed by the fact that his voice provider is an already wildly popular vocalist in an actual IRL band. yuzuki yukari is popular because flat chests are hot.

the reason miku is blue is because her design took heavily from yamaha synthesizers, particularly the yamaha DX-7, DX-100 and the DX-11. this particular colour of pastel cyan is used consistently throughout these devices.

Nu-Teto grew on me a lot, really just depends who's using it. SynthV banks are all really natural and smooth sounding with basically no effort on the tuning front so to get that utau choppiness you have to go in there and do it manually and most people just don't. Too tired and lazy to find an example but I've seen some people use her new voicebank and it really does just sound like a fuller, richer version of the original Teto as opposed to an uncanny realistic sounding bastardization of her utau form like it sounds by default. SynthV is just like that in general though imo, very inconsistent with how much I like the sound from P to P compared to Vocaloid or utau.

I enjoy both. A huge plus is that with SynthV Teto it's apparently easier to get her to sound good with less effort, so there's just simply more songs with Teto in general, which is always welcome. She is still unmistakably herself, I could never mistake her for an other SynthV. Their peak performances can be equally good, it's just that it's easier for producers to get SynthV Teto there. Even then there are still differences between the two, that they are both equally interesting to listen to for different reasons. I think this song is a very good example because I can easily picture myself thinking "Hmm, today let's listen to the UTAU version" and on an other day the same but with SynthV. I think of them as different voicebanks, but not as Teto and just a straight up better Teto.

Do you guys organize your vocaloid songs by the artist that made the song or by the vocaloid characters?
On a similar note, what about songs from anime? Do you organize them by the anime name or by the artist that made that particular song?
The individual artist is technically the most accurate and proper method, but it seems more convenient to just put all Hatsune Miku songs in one folder labeled 'Miku' rather than try to make different folders for all the different artists. But then I wonder if maybe I should give the artist more recognition by putting their name in. Can't seem to find a satisfying solution.

Album Artist tag is "Vocaloid", sort my music player by album artist and all my Vocaloid stuff is grouped together. Artist tag is for the actual producer(s). Comment tag is "feat. such and such Vocaloid".

This way lets me filter by producer searching by artist tag, or vocals searching by comment tag. Full albums get added as such, and random loose songs get put into big albums separated by voicebank, all still tagged under "Vocaloid" album artist to organize it better.
