I think the industry doesn't expect more than 2-3K sales anymore. They just need a certain type to do promos for late-night anime and to sing the OP/ED. Ansion singers aren't the same as they can't do the seiyuu part. She's going to be like Toki Shunichi, who is also under Pony Canyon. He gets anime tie-ins, MC and other roles from them. So there's a seiyuu named Riku Masuda who started her career after winning an open audition to be in PuraOre, her first ever role was as PuraOre's MC. As in, she was the lead in her very first anime. Since then, she's had a grand total of... zero anime roles. No leads, no main roles, no supporting roles, not even a background role. The only anime-related thing she's even done is singing the ED to Liar Liar as part of that Smile Princess idol group that started with PuraOre and somehow still exists despite the project shutting down.

How can someone whose very first anime role was an MC not get a single anime role since then years after? You'd think Digital Double could have at least given her a bit role in Liar Liar or whatever anime they're involved with these days, but it didn't happen.

Obviously, roles matter to a seiyuu. Sales only matter to those who have some solo music contract which are just a handful of them. The award is rigged for popular shows and the seiyuu in non-participating agencies don't get them. It doesn't even affect their work, for example, Hanakana only got one after her agency decided to join years later and Nakamura got one after he switched agencies. TV appearances are for fame whores, seiyuu don't really need them unless they're chasing that.
