I am the Youtube stream guy, I haven't been posting much, it just feels like after being there for 3 weeks it jus kind of lost some of the mysticism. What's happening on the cams? People going to work, same as everywhere else, commitments, obligations. I do have high quality shots of the Kabkukicho intersection and I stumbled upon where the old cam use to be as well, I'll eventually post them.

It's unique among the stations along the line with the thatched roof. It's also the gateway to Ochijuku, a preserved period village with the same roofing.
Ashinomakionsen station is all around better, though. Just doesn't have the live camera.

Anon asking about cameras made me check some of them again. I remember watching Sakurajima in the past and it felt nostalgic watching now as I went there 2+ years ago. Took a minute to realize the camera angle is from Tarumizu. I actually got to spend day and a half with a young monk from the town. A great guy that drove me all the way from Kumamoto to his town and let me stay at his family home. In the morning they gave me natto, which was my first time eating, but it was actually totally okay to eat. He showed me the temple, we played a bit on the local dock, he told me about the light rocks made from the volcano and then drove me all the way to Cape Sata. Had an awesome time talking with a great guy, despite my somewhat limited Japanese at the time. One of my best experiences traveling.

This winter has been a snow disappointment.
Looks like in the coming week and toward the end of the month we should get more snow, but I feel like we had a lot more snow hanging around all through January last year.

Since spending most of November of Japan but I haven't been visiting much, most did what I wanted to do, fulfilled what I wanted to fulfill but chance'd upon this this morning. You can walk across the rainbow bridge by the way and it's beautiful
