I tuned into this episode for a few minutes, man it was fucking dull.

I didn't understand the base concept. Why would I want to watch a bunch of comedians who can't act, re-enact an event I wouldn't ever want to see? I feel bad for the actresses that had to star opposite them, there's got to be a point where the money isn't worth it.

I don't know who is running this show, but they need to be fired. The shitty school sports event they had in the first episode was somehow better than this, there's got to be fucking SOMETHING you can do with half a dozen comics to fill an hour.

No one had to watch the show to realize that. I think most people were saying Kamaitachi and co. weren't up to the task before the show started, even here. But I don't think many expected it to be this bad.

I think I'm fucking done with terrestrial TV dramas, this last drama I watched was the straw that broke the camel's back. Didn't watch much of them, but on-demand over-the-top streaming originals from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus and Hulu are way, way better in terms of artistic freedom and production value.
Any recommendations? I only watched Shinbun Kisha (Netflix) and Modern Love Tokyo (Amazon Prime)

Matsumoto wanted to to express a new kind of owarai through the film medium, but there lies the problem. For the Japanese audience who are not used to films that are too ambitious and too unique, they shunned his works, and for the western/foreign audience who love weird films and kinos (and who recognized Kitano's genius) got filtered by his works because the comedy is too Japanese for them, hence his works failed. I made a thread asking for J-rock documentaries with English subs yesterday but apparently it got deleted.
Also any delinquent/bosozoku documentaries would be appreciated.
I've seen the Hide and X Japan one. There's this New Rote'Ka documentary on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzXcXP8zYyg&t=1s
There's a bunch of stuff on The Blue Hearts online but it's all untranslated.
Also anything in the vein of Godspeed You, Black Emperor would be appreciated. The only other movie focusing on Bosozoku subculture I found was Sayonara Speed Tribes.

Loved it. Onimusha is pure supernatural chanbara greatness. You can sense it's a Miike work from the opening scene. There's samurais, there's extreme violence, there's body horror. Overall, it's an excellent adaption of the games that translates the format of the games into anime perfectly. Musashi modeled after Mifune Toshiro, voiced by Otsuka Akio is the cherry on top. Hope there's a season 2.

I looked a few months back, couldn't find shit. There's a retard on avistaz who has a torrent with "subtitles", but it's a lie, they used the BD subtitle feature for a stupid option where you get a little indicator in the corner when "directors cut" shit shows up. As far as I know, it's just another one of those shows that probably had subs during the airing, but those were never included on any home release because the Japanese despise the deaf or something.

I think Yoshimoto holds too much power for this to completely erase him given his own status within the company but no doubt his reputation is basically fucked if it's all true, especially when the Johnny's stuff and its fallout still lingers (I think the article even quotes one of the women as having been inspired by that to come forward). Having said that, they might just quietly accel his retirement or something like that as damage control. Who knows, I'm still surprised Hamada basically got off scot-free from the papa katsu thing earlier this year, though his actions were much tamer compared to Matsumoto.
