What personally offends about HA is how terminally unfunny and unengaging it is. None of the characters really behave in-character, the HA cast are just simulacra of the actual characters from FSN that the narrative desperately wants me to pretend are the same characters despite their obviously being caricatures wholly extirpated from the context that shaped them into who they are. These embarrassing cardboard cutouts never experienced the trials and tribulations of the cast that I fell in love with, they merely imitate the idiosyncratic facets of their outward demeanour despite their having no reason to do so. Because FHA isn't a proper follow up to FSN, it can't explore how the characters would develop in the aftermath of the events of the latter, and is thus stuck creating fanfic scenarios with the characters existing in a vacuum. Like, one of the things that defines Rin and Shirou's dynamic in UBW and in general is that Shirou feels uncomfortable around Rin not just because he considers her hot but also because he feels unworthy of being happy and interacting with her is fun, which is why he gets so flustered when she teases him. The superficial chemistry is reflective of the themes and nuances of the characters on a deeper level, it's not just arbitrarily imposed on the characters. Exploring how their dynamic would change after their growing closer in the aftermath of UBW is an interesting prospect, especially with Shirou's learning to tease Rin back, but because these are not those characters, we just have scenes *trying* (and miserably failing) to capture a character dynamic that makes little sense outside of the strictures of UBW's narrative and the couple's characterization therein. And Saber? Holy shit, is that even the same character, really? It just sucks, and the fact it drags on for so long just makes it more insufferable.

The epilogue after Bazett wakes up still has all the servants and masters walking around, and they're still the same memey caricatures that they were in the dream.

To that poster talking about their grievances about HA earlier. I get it. Were Nasu not a coward and actually commit to a real sequel stuff like HA, KT and Melty wouldn't bother me. However, the fact he always wants to have his cake and eat it to with these follow ups is the annoying part. He wants to go for its all Le canon but he clearly always favours the first heroine being the bedrock route. Then he caricatures everyone which becomes everyone's default personality and behaviour forever in anything else. Then he pretends it counts as a sequel when it feasibly never could. How does that make any sense when the game says TA have all of the planet's resources at their disposal and that they have no limits to their power? If "amount" refers to the size of the swimming pool and not the hose being used to withdraw backup then I fail to see how they can fulfill their role as the CF(They're supposed to have abilities that let them exterminate any of the various factors that threaten the planet). Katatsuki Kouhon clarifies and makes it more specific:

Joe the vampire, the TA who handles the gardens, could only withdraw 3% before he gets flagged and has to deal with customer service which, because he's kinda fugly and the rep is a man hater takes longer than Sherry who only draws 1% but got the lesbian over the counter. Nasu said there was something about it. Personally I think the setup with Shiki following in Ciel's footsteps, having been inspired by her heroism and person is great for a sequel. It could provide some insight into the church and DA as he'd be the pope's hitman. This is what I find weird since it implies Excalibur and Quetz's meteor had that power due to vaporizing the Grail mud and Chaos Tide. But Arc's Marble Phantasm was powerless against Nrvnqsr in that side story of Kagetsu Tohya (part of why I hate that side story).
