I like characters who drive the plot.

Both are important, but it's easier to play something with great characters and a shit plot than a great plot with shit characters.

For example while stuff like Hello World have decent side-characters and good heroines, I wouldn't love it as much, if it wouldn't have an amazing story line too.

Well, it depends. I'd probably like great characters with shit plot much better than great plot with shit characters, but great plot with mediocre characters better than great characters with mediocre plot.

Ever17 comes to mind, though if you've been reading VNs for a while chances are you've already gotten to it. (If not, you really should, it's among the best in my opinion.)

Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime seem more plot than character driven, I guess. But once again, good chance you've already read them.

Shirou is the only decently developed character in FSN.
Though his development was far too spoonfeeded for its own good and there was a lots of contrived bits in HF.
Considering the game is so fucking long, it's hardly a huge feat.

For movies and shows, definitely Plot Driven. You kinda have things mapped out and an understanding of what's going on.

Things don't have to follow the map...but it's easier to get a sense of things going on.

Plot driven, definitely. I've finished every VN I've started except for one, and that was Family Project. I like the characters, but the plot got stale after one playthrough for me.
