Randomized files are unique, editing your images may make them unsearchable but it will still make them unique.
If the same image is being posted but with a unique hash each time then this is a clear indication that this image is posted by the same person who habitually edits their image. I've stalked at least one person using this method until they learned their lesson.
True anonymity come from copying other people's filenames and making sure your image isn't unique and that it has been posted by someone else other than you.
Also always post with multiple personalities, I can't stress how important is to never be consistent with your posts, that can be sometimes even more revealing than images.

The problem with this logic is that it goes from a 99% chance of being the same person to maybe 10%. I've got two thoughts here. The first is that more storage space needed means shorter times between storage upgrades and/or issues popping up, which is bad. And considering how it's the been in the top 5 fastest sites on the entire website since it's inception with the next fastest board that gets archived being 20th with 1/10th of the posts... that's a lotta storage space needed and used very quickly. And while you might have a point that it's me just taking a potshot at the end of the day even at the absolute best it brings no positives whatsoever to the archival process. You could say the same of any other board on there easily, but since we're on /jp/ I'm not going to say /jp/ is a waste of space, like how if you went on /fa/ they wouldn't say they're wasting the space but instead it was /cgl/ or /lit/ or whoever else.
The other thought? Yes, any proper member of this board should reach to find reasons to get mad at the retards who rape the catalog with more threads in a day than /jp/ used to have in two weeks. There's pretty much nobody in any of the threads I check that has someone that should be illegitimatized on the basis of who they are rather than what they say, and the few times I do see people pop up it's usually stuff like the Ranfag who're known because of the types of images they post. Adding extra disks is a pretty normal aspect for archival sites and it's possible he'd been wanting to do this even before the implementation of /vt/.

That's a fair way to see it, it's their archive and they're the ones who know best. The only thing I gotta bring up is that they've had more than a few maint's over the past year or so, but I know one of them was moving to a different server which likely had to happen anyways and imagine complications only led to more as they usually do. Also there was that weird oddity from sometime soon after the board exploded and a ton of posts just weren't archived but technically that wasn't the containment board yet.
