Typically from previous threads, people were taking requests from others that they found interesting. People also just submitted their works for the hell of it or for practice. I guess these threads will be the same, except discussions for projects will be mixed in as well.

Also for a request, I was hoping that someone could set up a page to store items that were previously submitted along with the links to older threads in the archive. Of course this will probably be the first thread that gets thrown into that page, unless people want to dig up old draw threads.

So to set up a schedule for things, we will probably have 1 or 2 threads on the weekdays depending on pace, and definitely 1 thread for weekends. Also as far as contributors taking requests, anything that is put out there is fair game since you're ultimately the person spending time to do it. Either that or you can just draw what you want for your own practice/enjoyment.

I don't oppose the usage of them. However, in the end, their userbase will be very small so they are best used for the storage of materials or ideas that have already been established. Since /jp/ does have the biggest userbase compared to those sites, it would be best to coordinate efforts here while having others continue to practice/contribute. It also helps keep the interest for original content. I'm sure everyone feels creative once in awhile.

I actually want to draw an OC manga, a rather professional looking one. Sex scenes are optional, but I rather not have them to be honest, so it is worksafe. It'd be nice to have someone work with me, preferably a writer to put my storyline together and another artist to help draw.

What I want to do is something similar to the mangas like The Ravages of Time and Vinland Saga --- war time action/drama, but in a realistic fantasy world (but still no magic, elves, etc) instead of being historical.

I want to apply many changes to that world though, and probably not suitable to everyone's taste. If anyone is interested, I'll slap together a summary of the world's setting together.

It set place in a world where normal humans, despite having weapons and etc, are inferior to wolves. Like our wolves, they are four legged, pretty smart but not smart enough to stand/talk/etc, but have the size of lions/elephants instead. Think of them as lion/tigers with wolf appearance, and they have a thick fur that are nearly invincible against slashing attacks. Thus, humans are forced to live in narrow caves, avoiding open plains in the early days.

Only about 30 years before the start of the story, "Knights", true professional warriors, are trained. These "knights" are like some sort of super warriors, and are the only cheap/effective weapons they have against the wolves (without knights, they'll need to deploy like 50 normal men, and they'll probably lose over half of them in a fight against a single wolf). As more knights were trained, humans finally reclaimed the open plains, and started having bigger settlements. The most famous knight was later crowned king.

As time passes, the king ages of course. After his death, his sons fought over the land, breaking into a huge civil war (north vs south), using "knights" against each other. The war continues, and both his sons died in an epic battle against each other. Young children became puppet kings, and are at the mercy of their warlords/knights. Knights, by this time, are mostly power hungry monsters, fighting each other for land and wealth.

Now, the story revolves around a southern knight who gained control of a minor city by chance. He would train normal men to help defend, raid other cities (friend's AND foe's), kill countless men on the battlefield or secretly, and makes secret pacts with friends and enemies in order to keep the city alive.

That sounds more like an idea for a strategy game rather than a traditional story. It could be done, but it would have to rely on the strength of the reoccurring village cast to remain enjoyable. Think about things like a young village intellectual who believes that the town shouldn't be run by the hands of a brute or an old cranky blacksmith whose hard drawn wisdom must be consulted when building fortifications for the city. Think of it that If your characters won't be moving around, aka maintaining their settlement, then where they are has to be especially rich and interesting.

I can always turn it into a strategy game if it fits that style more. The question is, who would spend hours dling/playing a strategy game made by a random person? A manga, on the other hand, if the art is good and the story seems interesting, people will pick it up and spend time reading it.

As for characters, I'll need help on creating and developing more. I personally have created a few that will develop/change over the course of the story, but I don't think 5-6 is enough.

He could make the story focus on the friendliness and unity between the villagers on the one hand, and their mercilessness against outsiders for the sake of their village on the other hand. Sort of like the Hinamizawa anti-dam movement. The story could center on the southern knight, who absolutely hates this violence and bloodshed, but must keep causing it for the sake of the village.

Yeah without a base, people are just contributing their random works right now as with any previous OC threads. This isn't a bad thing since we get a gauge of people's abilities and contributors also gain additional experience (both old and new). Eventually in future threads I'm sure there will be an idea that appeals to a large number. By then those who have contributed in the past can extend a helping hand.
