Dear /jp/, I'm in Japan at the moment and suffering from a horrible international link on my internet connection. I'd be appreciative if someone could recommend to me one or more of the following:

a) DDL site hosted inside Japan
b) Torrent site with predominantly Japan-based peers
c) P2P that doesn't take 40 years to start a download (i.e. not share or pd)

I get something like 60mbit inside Japan, but less than 1.5mbit outside. Coming from a country with fail interwebs (Australia), I'd like to take advantage of my new connectivity situation, but have found it kind of underwhelming so far. I can upload stuff to DDL, seed torrents, etc so I'm not looking to leech specifically, I just want to make proper use of this internet connection.

I realise there's some pretty harsh piracy laws here, but there's gotta be something that fits what I'm looking for.

well for c) I think its a case of you're doing something wrong - overall, perhaps run some speed tests to varying servers round the world - see where the bottlenecks are.

You're using it wrong, if you're downloading latest stuff it should be as fast or faster than torrents.

I live in Japan and I get good speed to international sites, and I've never heard anyone complain about what you're complaining about. I torrent and download stuff from overseas all the time. So yeah I'm pretty sure your connection just sucks.

What provider are you using?
