I think some era games either give you a choice on this ('shallow' or 'deep' virginity-taking fingering), like EraMeiQGaiden I think it was, while a bunch do have the whole 'fingering means virginity loss' thing and will ask if you're sure you want to take virginity this way. It's probably to do with how some era games treat that sort of thing, and I think TW is also one of them (or maybe I'm thinking SQN?). Like when you do say [001] Fingering action, it gets replaced with say [001] G-Spot Simulation. But since the 'action number' hasn't changed ([001]), though the name, description and even base gains of the action has changed, it counts as 'repeating the same action', and so the action is penalised.

Well, firstly it's easier to just translate or add dialogues than to implement a new system, so people tend to tread the safer path. I have done more digging around in the code of eraMegaten while trying to figure out a way to get the reaper and have more complaints.

To begin with, let's talk about Slime. Slime's an asshole. He won't talk to you no matter what you do. This is, in fact, on his character page - Conversation type 331, no conversation. The Reaper, by comparison, uses #332, Shadow. And in every possible encounter you can have with her in Tartarus, the code manually shifts her to 331, or just outright bans talking. This leads me to the conclusion that you're supposed to be able to grab one from somewhere - maybe a P4 or P5 dungeon, but a check shows that she doesn't show up in any of them. Maybe in a prior version? - because otherwise why the fuck wouldn't they have just made her conversation type 331?

And I still don't know what the fuck is up with the fusion conditions she's supposed to have. Flag 92 does seem to translate to unlocking the fusion... it just doesn't get used. At all. Anybody know where those fusion conditions are actually stored?

Some of those traits date back in era history, pretty much. For example, Embodiment made your Assistant become futa when training someone, but in a lot of modern era games it pretty much does nothing.

Other than that, some 'traits' are actually more descriptors that the game uses to determine body size, and how it interacts with others. The most obvious one is Inchling, but otherwise stuff like Child/Petite, Tall, etc., in especially K-styled interactions, are used for extra lines ('(You)-chan looks up at the tall (You)-kun') or if the era game doesn't have a separate descriptor for say genitals, would use it as an assumption (e.g. Petite = immature, Petite being seen as 'Child-sized' giving descriptions of stuff like 'booba too big for a body of that size/age'). If there isn't a way to 'pick up' those traits, especially in a TW-styled era game, then there isn't really a good reason to remove those sort of traits either. Maybe someone eventually might find a use for them - like say if Embodiment, instead of the 'becomes futa when used as Assistant' thing, instead becomes for example 'a highly horny and sexually frustrated Suwako decides to grow a dick to ravage Fe(You)', or similar. Again, something about your attitude makes me genuinely happy. I ended up a bit out in the countryside, in Tohoku, and sometimes I've felt bummed about that, like I wish I'd gotten to be somewhere like Tokyo or what not. But thinking of there being something special in 'the far corners and hard to reach spots' honestly makes me see Tohoku/the inaka in a more curious light.

I've been stressing over whether I want to head back home to the US next year, or stay an additional year and return home in 2025. Leaning towards going home sooner rather than later, but even if I do that, it's still 10 whole months. If you got that much of an impactful experience from being in Japan for 10 days, then 10 months is quite a bit of time.

But anyways - sorry to be completely off-topic. More on-topic - if I'm completely new to Touhou, what game would you recommend I start with?
