With gravure idols, Horipro tries to get them normal roles if they want to do acting, and if that doesn't work, they try to get them roles based on their sexiness, similar to some of the stuff Rio did, not nude, but clearly cast for her boobs. And with them, that road sometimes ends with nude scenes and nude photobooks. So it would be a slow process.
When it comes to magazine gravure, I've heard of $500-$1000 for a cover appearance in a magazine. So even with Hina's output, that alone doesn't make you rich and you basically need to do either constant photobooks/IVs, photo events with fans, a fan club, merch, etc. to survive, even more so because you can only earn that money when you're young.
The reality is that 4-5 magazine covers a year, a birthday event, a calendar and a fanclub aren't enough if she doesn't get roles. So I can get why there are girls who feel like they have to take roles they don't want to, especially if they're still hoping to break into the mainstream in acting. I still don't think that this would fit Aika, it would probably be better to do more magazine gravure, variety, radio shows and maybe even IVs for her. We'll see what she does in the future.
