GGs, Harlaown. Not much of a Yukari player, but I would recommend more 2A spam. She's got a nice one that's good for a few easy guardcrushes and Guy will attest to how fearful I am of 2A spam. Why don't Yukari's lasers and stop signs ever work as well when I use them? Every time I turned around I was getting hit by CH 66C 5C j.5C/CH66C spellcard. Terribly saddening. Well, it's at least somewhat less frightful than it was before 1.10 and certainly less so than 1.03 66C in Lurker's hands. That one match where I was making a decent comeback from no health only to have Typhoon pop up... Damn you Tasofro... Thanks for the matches, had some fun.

The average rating of the top Sanae players went up, but not as much as other characters.

I'm fairly certain she'll move up after a few months. Her major weakness (melee) was much improved, the new j.2A has a lot of potential, and she was given some nice new moves (charged 5C/j.5C, 4C/j.4C, 6C/j.6C). I think it'll just take time before people figure out how to play her to her potential.

Good games Flan. You should block a lot more. Every time you backdashed you should have been blocking like right after a blocked dial-a-combo and after a blocked dash attack. You should be blocking whenever you aren't doing anything else or after a move that you can't recover from right away. Also, try to use more of Youmu's B bullets so you have some covering fire while you approach your opponent.

Thanks for the matches, but you seriously, if you want to get better, you must do 3 things.

1. You need to become more comfortable playing this game. A couple of times I saw you so flustered (or frustrated) once you got a few hits off that you were using multiple cards in one moment. I saw it because I use to do it too against much tougher players. Get into Practice and drill yourself on your movements, what each attack does and how it works, what attack chains into one another fluidly, and so on. You can learn combos and set-ups much later, but now you need to focus on keeping your anxiety down in a match.
2. Stop airteching as much. It's better to hit the ground and kill the opponents drive rather than keep flailing in the air only to get hit up for more extra damage. I know it's force of habit against CPU because they don't tech trap like real players, but it's something to watch yourself on.
3. Don't wake up and think you'll get the first hit. Unless the opponent screws up their timing, you'll end up getting re-comboed 99% of the time which defeats your purpose of trying to hit your opponent first in the first place.

Take my advice with a grain of salt, but hopefully it'll help.

/jp/ I have a problem. Whenever I play a couple rounds with someone else the game seems to...stop? For example I thought I won while the other person claims to have won. We see completely different games and If I move in my game I appear to be standing still in the other person's. It's only been happening since I updated the patch to 1.10. Good games. You've gotten much better since the last time we played. I don't like playing defensively but it seems like it's the only thing that works against you. I never have to worry about being gaurdcrushed by losing my orbs because you usually just try to do a low gaurdcrush instead of chip away at my defense. Despite what you might think, I've seen people do a lot worse. I wonder, do you have a main character? You played with a lot of different characters, focusing on one or a few might make it easier to improve.

Overall, I think you just need to practise your timings better, and learn some basic combos. Using a spellcard right next to your opponent is usually a bad idea, if you think the opponent could block it; sacrificing some of the card's damage by using it at the end of a combo is a better idea. See the link in OP post, there's some example combos you could practise.

Then there's of course knowing which moves are punishable and knowing when your opponent can't block your attacks. These come only by practise over time.

Also, note that I've played Soku from the launch, although I've been inactive at times, and some SWR before that.

Well, it's really up to you to choose which character you like. My straightforward style made me choose Youmu, but I play some other characters too.

The simplest characters to start with I think are Suika, Reimu, Marisa and Youmu, but that's just my opinion.

Whatever you decide, playing all 20 characters properly is pretty much impossible without incredible amounts of training.
