It's a template made from the remains of a sacrificed Flan that were first traced with a ballpen (?) by a guy who, like me, wanted to make a custom Yuukarin (I think he abandoned the pursuit before achieving the ultimate success, like myself, who simply bought two in the end and in nearly four years haven't bothered to convert the "heartless" one into PC-98 Yuukarin, as I intended—even bought all the supplies for it). I then retraced it more smoothly with a red pen in Clip Studio Paint, confirming the purpose and required orientation of the pieces with him step by step. Not sure how the pattern first appeared on jaypee, but the third image with RIP'd Flan's hair tends to be left out. Relatively recently (I don't remember seeing this edit before 2023) someone improved it further, adding notes in non-handwritten text and other marks & the fully round foot piece. So at least three guys were involved in creating the current version of this pattern sheet.

I've seen a "custom" characters for sale on Aliexpress. There's a Hina, Lily White and others, including a Mike. Does anyone know if there are other characters out there that don't have official fumos that are on Aliexpress? A lot are on Taobao but that really doesn't work for westerners.
As for the Mike, there are several Chinese makers who have one on Alixepress, all of course look similar. Are these any good on the quality front?

Our pattern only includes the fumo's body base though. Although I have the option of creating fumo-oriented patterns in Marvelous Designer, I'm not sure how closely the proportions of this 3D model match actual fumos, so they might not work too well. I have an a6000, but camera bodies really don't matter that much for photography. Anything from the last 10-20 years will be good enough. The real question is lenses, I use a couple vintage Nikkor lenses (nearly always my 35mm f/2 portrait lens, but I have a few more) that are dirt cheap because they aren't able to be electronically controlled by the camera like more modern lenses.
The good thing about the a6000 is it was often sold in a starter set with a lens or two and a bag and such. Lots of people give up photography and then sell their sets for like, half price. Maybe pick up one of those.
Basically, just get any camera and then get some lenses for it and you'll be fine. It doesn't matter that much. People trying to get you to buy some expensive new body or expensive new lens or repping specific brands can be ignored. You could also try those stupid lenses for phones, no clue if they're any good but they might be a fun first step.
Also, I only got into photography around 2 years ago and most of my pictures are still terrible, so don't take me as gospel.
