Any suggestions on where I can go to find talented and motivated individuals to help with a visual novel project?

We (myself and two other people) did a lot of work over a year ago and produced a pretty good beta (playable demo) along with a extensive universe/character roster.

Currently we have a development Wiki and newly created forum up and running; but I'm no where near talented enough to produce a good product (I did everything aside from the character artwork and plot/story). I need people who are specialized.

Thanks in advance;

Definitely not /jp/, unfortunately.

I've seen some good material come out of this board over the past couple of years. I figured it's the best place of any to get input.

Why not post up said demo and give people a chance to evaluate it before they decide whether their effort is warranted.

Decided to scrap the original name, after some soul searching I felt it was too weeaboo. We've also dumped most of the original plot elements.

That's why I'm looking for people to help.

Note: The demo was put entirely together by myself. So please don't be to critical, I know it's lacking in the quality department.

I'm very good at writing, I think. Do you need a writer?

>> No.4463038

Oh whoa. I seem to remember seeing some of these screen shots a long time ago (e.g. http://www.csanimefan.com/ggs/wiki/graphicnovel/index.php?title=Image:Jnojno.jpg ).

Looks like you're getting somewhere. Anyway, I'm too inconsistent to work as an artist on any project, so count me out, but good luck.

looks not bad, I'll help if there is anything I can do - how to get in touch?

shock cocoon is a sort of gay name, why try to make a VN and avoid being "too weeaboo"

I actually made a forum a few days ago so in hopes that I could expand on the writing. I have one person who's been with me since I started this over a year ago; they got a lot of material out there, but we need "more" (people who are good at writing dialog, plot twists/elements, etc.).

I'm no writer... I'm probably not using the correct terms. But yes, we need additional writers for different aspects of the project.

Shock Cocoon is a term used in explosion physics to describe safe zones. Being as the story takes place in a very isolated region, cut off from the rest of society (and from the characters perspective, they might be the only safe ones), I thought the name fit.

It might grow on people, better than "Sea Cats", eh?

I was gonna wait a few days before giving out this link (I wanted to port over material from the Wiki so it didn't look so empty), but feel free to make an account here;

for discussing ideas, I think IRCs work best. Any thoughts on that?

I think Google Wave is pretty cool minus the mandatory user account thing.

Also, I can't say I like those forums. Too many categories means everything is spread thin. What about a single general board to start with? You could branch off later when the need arises.

I played with Google Wave a bit, but it doesn't allow someone to show off to the public the work that is being done. And the problem with our old Wiki, it was hard to add content. So, I made a forum.

We got a lot of content on the Wiki. I'll be porting it over later this week.

/jp/ attempted to hijack this game called Travian while pretending to be a bunch of little girls from China. Worked pretty well for the first couple of months.

Yeah. The forum definitely needs to be compressed. It's a bit of a mess right now, especially without anything there right now. I agree that you should start with just a few subforums (maybe general, writing, programming, and audio, or whatever suits the project best) and as the project grows maybe you can add some more subforums.

I'm interested in possibly helping with some writing, but before I make any sort of a commitment, I need to be able to see everything you've already got as organized and detailed as possible so I don't have to try to filter through things.

I'll do my best and have something up tomorrow or later this week.
